🎄 When it comes to Christmas…is it ever too early? 🎄 Almost half of respondents, in a recent survey by Musgrave Marketplace, said they were more than happy to see decorations up in restaurants and bars as early as possible. However, sentiment changed when asked about putting up your Christmas decorations at home, with 75% of people believing you should wait until at least December 1st. The survey revealed some interesting festive trends: 🎅 Turkey & Ham : 51% of people said they would enjoy turkey and ham up to three times before Christmas Day with 16% saying it would be on more than three occasions. However, one in three people surveyed said they would only eat the traditional fayre on Christmas Day 🎁 Christmas Preparations: Just over half of those surveyed at the beginning of November had started their Christmas shopping while 54% already had Christmas night outs planned. It is no doubt the busiest time of the year for the hospitality and foodservice industry and our teams across Musgrave MarketPlace are working closely with our customers to ensure the Christmas season is celebrated in style. Here’s how to create a delicious, festive meal without breaking the bank: 1️⃣ Plan Your Menu Early Stick to classic dishes that everyone loves, and avoid overcomplicating the spread. Planning helps prevent unnecessary last-minute purchases. 2️⃣ Shop Smart Check for supermarket deals, use loyalty points, and compare prices. Buying non-perishables or frozen items in advance can save a lot! 3️⃣ Embrace DIY Make your own starters, sides, and desserts instead of splurging on pre-made ones. A homemade touch adds love to the meal and it’s kinder to your wallet. 4️⃣ Portion Control Avoid buying too much food by estimating portions carefully. Less waste, more savings! 5️⃣ Share the Load Ask guests to bring a dish or dessert. It’s a great way to ease the financial burden while creating a collaborative and memorable meal. 6️⃣ Use What You Have Check your pantry for ingredients you already own. Sometimes, hidden treasures are right there in your cupboards!
