Hi, I'm Luck Dechra, VP of People at Lipsum. We are an HR tech or people enablement platform, so we care heavily about what people do to make work fulfilling. So the culture here kind of matches that. I think everyone here really cares about one another, really cares about work culture. And so it really pushes us, even on the HR team, to really try our best to create that really fantastic culture that people are attracted to as well. We've always cared about people finding work fulfilling, right? And so that comes in a lot of ways, but it also comes from learning. And so I think we are a lean company. Series A been bootstrapped for years. And so what's a way to keep people engaged? I think really ambitious smart people like to learn and so this development budget is part of that. Leave Some was founded in 2016 by our cofounders Jenny and Kayton and we bootstrapped our way to 1000 clients in over 10 million in annual revenue. We took our Series A in 2022, a $60 million round from Insight Partners here in New York and use that to launch. The New York office. Our mission is to help make work more fulfilling for everyone, and that's something we're living internally as well. There's a huge focus on giving constructive feedback, personal development, growth and opportunity leave some software drives our culture. As a leader, I have everything I need. Meeting notes, goal alignment, performance review, instant feedback, praise, everything I need to do to help empower and enable my team. This is part of our backbone like work should be fulfilling by being able to have. Flexibility and also by stretching yourself in different ways. The professional development budget is something that you learn about from the on site, probably from recruiting all the way through your hire. It's in your offer letter and it's very clearly stated that you have this budget to use. And then on top of that, we make it really easy for you to see like what your budget is, how to get it approved. And we make that really easy for people to understand. And then what we try to do is also showcase the different types of things people use it for. So whether that's business coaching or buying books or attending a conference. We like to promote the variety and give people the flexibility to choose what they want to do. One of the reasons why I joined Leadsom was the ability to grow personally and professionally. We do that through a development budget where every person that leaves them, regardless of role, location, title, has access to the same amount of funds to use as they see fit to fund their own professional development. We talk a lot on the personal side that we should have a therapist, somebody helping guide us through the challenges of life. On the business side, though, it's equally important to have somebody who's doing that and working with John. It was actually a really good blend of both. We called it coach therapy sometimes because sometimes you just need a sounding board to work through things because work can be emotional as well. We are emotional people and having somebody who can help give you balance, perspective, feedback, guidance during tough times is really helpful.

Mentoring should be front and center on this chart too 🫵🏻 and yes leadership is a soft skill most folks fail to learn. 🫵🏻 Are all voices being heard, or are some perspectives missing? Successful leaders pick up on these signals to gain a deeper understanding of how their team members process information, approach risk, and maintain commitment.
