Huge thank you to Andrina Sinclair for writing this piece on what it's like to work at Buzzqube . Really great insights for anyone who wants to work as an intern to gain experience.
"Embracing the HR consultancy world as an intern at Buzzqube has been an amazing experience, that has given me valuable tools and knowledge to prepare me for future roles within HR. Here are my top 3 lessons I have currently learnt whilst being a part of Buzzqube:
1️⃣ Collaboration: Working with a consultancy that encourages collaboration, has allowed me to gain valuable insight from colleagues and clients. Specifically, when working with Angela Rieu-Clarke and Arlene Herzog. Angela’s experience in transformational HR has allowed me to gain insights into the crafting of HR strategies and tools, such as salary and benefit comparisons, which I would never have received guidance for if it hadn’t been for the collaboration. Collaborating with Arlene has shown me the need to develop a keen eye for detail when creating HR packages tailored towards clients, as well as observing her leveraging of technology for Buzzqube marketing strategies.
2️⃣ Attention to detail: One of my responsibilities at Buzzqube is salary and benefit comparisons. This involves sourcing and analysing vast amounts of data from our clients against similar competitors in their market, across multiple platforms. This has taught me the value of attention to detail, to ensure the integrity of the comparisons is reliable. Attention to detail has also allowed me to consider different factors and tailor them towards specific clients such as industry norms, company size, and talent market dynamics.
3️⃣ Continuous learning is key: HR is a dynamic and creative industry, a key insight, particularly concerning my generation, Gen Z, is that our values are evolving. We are more conscious of ethical considerations within businesses, such as sustainability. Through producing benefits benchmarking at Buzzqube, I have learned there is a notable shift in incorporating initiatives such as cycle2work schemes and corporate volunteering days. This shows that HR is becoming a useful tool for businesses to create a positive CSR profile, which employees value.
Overall, becoming an intern at Buzzqube has allowed me to create a diverse skill set and valuable learning experiences that I can use for future roles in HR consultancy or related fields after University!"
