Quoting a beautiful poem by Harivansh Rai Bachchan on the auspicious occasion of Holi! **English translation** This is the cleverness of the soil, Different forms and different colors, Feelings, thoughts, and waves are different, The shield is different, the style is different. Take the freedom you want today, If it's Holi, then introduce yourself to strangers! If you get closer, become closer, And go even closer, Don't be afraid of customs and policies, Today, no one will stop you, do what you desire. If it's Holi, then embrace your friend today! Love is the essence of the eternal world, Forget hatred and enmity for a moment, Success in life is in giving and taking mistakes, Make what's gone astray yours again. If it's Holi, then embrace your enemy today! If it's Holi, then introduce yourself to strangers, If it's Holi, then embrace your friend today, Forget the grudges of the past year's conflicts, If it's Holi, then embrace your enemy today! #holi #poetry #festival #colors #harivanshraibachchan #poetsofindia #culture #hindi

Hi, Dear LinkedIn Connection, ✨️ Stop 'Fake' Flattery, Resumé 'Real' Appreciation ⚔️ 🎓 'Born to Lead The World' - Series - 16 (#BornToLead). 🎥 Video Credit:- Japanese & Unknown 'FAKE & REAL' images. As Japanese say, "We have the 1st face, that's 'What We show to the World', is based on our 3rd Face, that, 'We never show to Anyone, & our 3rd face is the Real Reflection of Who We Are'. 🤺 We know, that, 'Flattery is telling the other person preciously, What he/she thinks about himself/herself'. #Appreciation is a feeling or Expression of ADMIRATION, approval, or Gratitude, with Thankful Recognition , after assessment, of Qualities, of the True Worth or value of persons or things. Flattery is dangerous. We must Be away from Flattery. Flattery is insincere, Not-True, Cheap Praise. ⚔️ Appreciation is Sincere & Good, & will get positive results where criticism & ridicule failed. It is the act of estimating the qualities of things & giving them their proper Value. Let's try to figure out the other person's good points, give honest, sincere appreciation. Everyone is Equal & None is above Others. And Everyone is Unique & special. Everyone must believe, "I am my super power ...". There will always be Someone better at something than the Others. A Wise person once said, "Comparison is the Thief of Joy". Don't let the success of others discourage us from Our Own endeavors or make us, 'BITTER'. If Someone has done or is doing something you would like to do, Let it Inspire us & be an indicator that, We, too, can achieve the great things. Let's Believe, 'No One Can Be like Us, And That's Our Power!' Let's Believe in Ourself, and Redeem Ourself. ✍️ "All People that live are one in Circumstances of birth, Diversities of works give each One's special worth." The word "abracadabra" is believed to have originated from the ancient Aramaic language spoken in Mesopotamia where the phrase ‘avra kedabra’ was used, which translates to ‘I create as I speak’. Remarkably similar is the Hebrew phrase ‘abreg ad hābreg’, which means ‘I will create as I speak’. 🗣 Studies show that most emotions last no longer than 90 seconds unless we attach stories to them. Be careful with the stories you tell yourself, your mind is always listening and remembering. Remember that words are "spelled" 🧝♂️🔮 You might think positive mantras don't work, but consider all the negative mantras you tell yourself without thinking: "I don't like my body", "I'm not good enough", "I'm an idiot", "They don't like me" etc. And consider the shift if you replaced these put-downs with positive affirmations. Nothing broken to be fixed, only choices to be made. Let's reprogramme your subconscious auto-pilot. 📧 hello@rookatme.com #affirmations #wordsmatter #subconsciousbias #power

Ever found yourself in a battle of logic, emotions, and credibility, trying to persuade your parent that maybe—just maybe—not everyone is trustworthy enough to share all the *juicy* info they casually drop into conversations. 😬 Asking for a friend... Seriously! LOL My friend, Asad Kazmi, posed this challenge. https://lnkd.in/ggxshhXR Oh, the joys of trying to persuade your parents! Are you scratching your head while mimicking McKayla Maroney at your attempt? I would recommend two things I'm most likely to do in this scenario. Option one—try inflation: a common technique in satire where you take a real-life situation and exaggerate it to such a degree that it becomes ridiculous and its faults can be seen, and thus satirical. Tread lightly. I did find this resource that is a “masterclass” on how to do that. It's my weapon of choice, by the way. 'What Is Hyperbole? Definition of Hyperbole With Examples' https://lnkd.in/gQbf_Kts Or you could try an allusion, which is option two in my personal repertoire. Say to your parent in an opportune moment, "Ha! 'Your teeth and tongue do fight but they still live together in the same mouth.'" An allusion to a Kanuri #proverb courtesy Emeka Aneke in London, UK. They'll likely retort, "What, exactly, is the tongue and the teeth thing?" You can then say, "My friend wrote a post the other day about an African proverb called The Tongue and the Teeth. It's a fable from African folklore. In the story, the tongue and the teeth get into a playful argument about who is more important in the mouth. The tongue boasts that it is the one that speaks, tastes, and communicates, so it's obviously the superior one. The teeth, on the other hand, laugh and respond, "Without teeth, the tongue would have nothing to protect it from danger." Amused by the tongue’s bragging, the teeth decide to teach it a lesson. One day, when the tongue is too quick to talk and too eager to express itself, the teeth accidentally bite it! The tongue then realizes that rushing to speak and sharing too much can get it into trouble, and that sometimes it’s better to remain guarded." Be sure to finish with, "Personally, I think it's hilarious that you thumb your nose at this principle." Then pause and give your parent space to absorb and reflect. Do not explain yourself. After all, it's me—not you—who told the story. LOL This dark but humorous and exaggerated tale highlights, on your behalf, the dangers of being too quick to speak or disclose information without caution. In the future, you can then refer back to this conversation saying, "I see you're still rockin' the tongue and teeth thing." Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to pass this information on to my friend instead of just telling him what to do... :) -------- #storytelling #layeredcommunication #language #fables

WORDS ARE POWERFUL. USE THEM WISELY… Words. We use words to describe objects, to communicate with other sentient beings, to describe how we feel. How we use words and the tone we use can make all the difference. Words can build a relationship or break it in an instant. A promise is an example of how powerful words are. Words can make or break a person. They can either lift someone up or push them down deep into the dark abyss. Words can change our fate in a second. We speak to others on a daily basis. How we use them and the tone we use makes all the difference. Be mindful of how you use them and of your tone. Before you think of saying something to someone think about what type of impact it is going to have on their life. Use words to bring people up rather than to put them down. The same can be applied to yourself. We speak to ourselves on a daily basis. Before you speak to yourself in a negative way, ask yourself whether would you speak to one of your loved ones like this. If the answer is no then why are you speaking to yourself in a negative way? Use your words to help you in life rather than to put yourself down. Be your own biggest fan rather than your own worst enemy. Words are powerful. Use them wisely. © Vrishiibakshi 30/04/2024. Feel free to forward this to add value to someone else’s life.Be the change you wish to see in the world.

When I look back 15 years, I feel like I had so much to do every day. Emotions such as love, laughter, life, play, crying, and anger.... Fast forward to now, and many of us have to "Find a reason to smile every day," so what went missing? In that quest, I began learning about cultural diversity and came across this piece, which I thought quite interesting ~ "Kintsugi" a traditional Japanese technique for repairing broken pottery. Kintsugi (Japanese: 金継ぎ), also known as Kintsukuroi (金繕い, "golden repair"), is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with urushi lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. - Wikipidea. "Kintsugi" fosters the idea that a broken object can be repaired and be made useful once again. It tells us we can always begin a NEW despite the past failures. It also teaches us that in life we can turn adversity into something that is BEAUTIFUL and RESILIENT. & all of this is not just textbook research; it has been proved through time and practice. Remember the recent pandemic? Mankind has progressed! So here's to LIFE on a FRIDAY ✨ ... I say we cheer - - Start SELF LOVE - being more COMPASSIONATE - practice PATIENCE Keep you heads high, stay happy 🤩 #life #japan #kintsugi #love #strength #compassion #iwau #growth

For me, the most profound phrase, of all the phrases, of all the 700 verses of the Bhagavat Gita, is "Karmayevadhikaraste!" And the phrase that I most struggled to come to terms with was 'Ma phaleshu kadachana"! Through these very popular phrases, Bhagavan Krishna says that I have a right only on action! I do not have an iota of right on the results of my action! When I first read this, my conditioned mind revolted. In a goal-oriented, result-oriented world, how can I not have a right on the results of my actions? With time, I began to see that no matter how uncomfortable this truth is, it is the Truth! I DO NOT have 100% control over results. There are a thousand factors on which results depend, most of which I do not see or understand or control. Is it not true that not all my successes are solely my own? And is it also not true that many times, though I have worked very hard, I have failed, without knowing why! The acceptance of this Truth was not very comforting either. It was like swallowing a bitter pill. I began to feel hopeless & disempowered. And I started questioning it all! When I do not have any control, why bother at all? That's when 'Karmanyevadhikaraste' kicked in! The phase 'Karmanyevadhikaraste' is a sandhi (compound word) of Karmani + Eva + Adhikarah + Te! Karmani (On action) + Eva (Only) + Adhikarah (Right) + Te (You)! Bhagavan Krishna says - "Hey! You have absolutely NO control over the result. But you have 100% control over your action! Exercise it!" At the same time, I heard Sadhguru JV say, "If you have one eye on the goal, you only have one eye left on the path!" Suddenly, it all began to make sense! Having goals is not the problem. I must have goals. And I must work towards them. The problem is "attachment with the result." I must be 100% involved in the process. I must give my 100% to 'make things happen'. At the same time, I must have 0% attachment with the result. I should absolutely detached from the result. Hmm! Interesting! I decided to 'test' this theory in real life. Funnily, the results didn't change! I still fail as much as I used to earlier. However, my attitude towards success & failure changed. I do not brood over failures as much. Nor do I take success for granted. With a lot of energy released from my anxieties towards results or reactions post-results, I find myself with excess energy to focus on my action. My levels of involvement have shot up. I put in so much more into every project. It is a cool feeling - MS Dhoni cool! I know I am at KG level when it comes to Bhagavat Gita. But I wanted to share my journey of understanding 'Karmanyevadhikaraste' with you all, which began with reluctant acceptance, but transformed to empowered practice! Today, I think 'Karmanyevadhikaraste' is one of the coolest & most profound of Krishna's messages - "100% involvement, 0% attachment!" #RediscoveringBharat aspires to connect Indians with the glory & essence of Bharat!

Very nicely explained 👏 👌 👍 😀 Want to add my experiences 1. When you are writing an exam you can focus more on your exam. When you accept that the question is harder and you are going to fail, you can not deliver 100 percent. 2. The results we get are not related one to one of our Karma sequentially. Further we have people who depends upon us or we depend upon someone. If the king does bad things, then people are going to suffer 😔 . And you don't know if you have done something wrong in your previous birth that you took birth in Gaza/Israel/Russia/Ukraine. 3. Sometimes the boss forgives you because you have a family to feed. And then there are chances of accounts transfer. 4. The soul decides the womb as per Prarabdh and therefore the family, friends and circumstances. Some are there to give and some to get. So it's good to do good and not to worry about the results. Surrender yourself to the Krishna(not the person with a Bansuri)inside you , your soul sitting on top of your brain. The inner sound which is calm deep inside.

Malapropism: When words sound alike, but aren't quite right 🤭 (You’ve probably heard—or made—one of these!) A malapropism is when someone uses a word incorrectly, often because it sounds similar to the one they meant to use. It can lead to some hilarious and confusing phrases. Check out these classic examples: 1. "He is a wolf in cheap clothing" → instead of "sheep's clothing." 2. "I might fade into Bolivian" → instead of "oblivion." 3. "It's a long road to hoe" → instead of "row to hoe." Malapropisms add a touch of humor to our conversations and remind us just how tricky language can be! P.S. Have you ever caught yourself using a malapropism? Share your funniest one below! ♻️ Repost if you appreciate the quirks of language! #SirArens

Reading has always been my go-to activity for refreshing and calming my mind. It enriches my vocabulary, boosts my emotional intelligence, and expands my knowledge. One genre that has always captivated me is Hindu mythology, with its deep wisdom and intricate stories. Currently, I am engrossed in "The Hidden Hindu" by Akshat Gupta. This intriguing novel follows Prithvi, a twenty-one-year-old on a quest to find Om Shastri, a mysterious aghori and Shiva devotee. Om Shastri, who was traced over 200 years ago, is now held in a high-tech facility on an isolated Indian island. The blend of mythology and modern storytelling is absolutely captivating. Beyond personal enjoyment, reading significantly enhances my professional life. It sharpens my communication skills, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving abilities, all of which are crucial in today's dynamic work environment. I highly recommend "The Hidden Hindu" for anyone looking for a mentally stimulating and enriching read. Dive into this fascinating world and discover the hidden gems of Hindu mythology! #Reading #BookRecommendation #TheHiddenHindu #HinduMythology #PersonalGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment
