Definitely worth reposting this, as I know how much work has gone into fine tuning FreeWills into the fabulous free Will writing tech solution that it is. And it's lovely to see Will writing businesses nodding their head to Remember A Charity because Lucinda Frostick and team work their socks off! As do the Institute Of Legacy Management. So glad you occasionally post Carl 😄 Thank you - for being so open (confidentially and GDP securely) with the statistically significant data set you've amassed. I do love #data and as a #legacy #trainer and #marketeer, seeing conversion and the sheer quantity of people who are writing Wills, digitally increasing at a pace...although the pipeline is long, evidence of ROI (especially with a free platform) is pretty impressive. Offering a Will writing service to your #employees is an Employee Living Gain (ELG) and can be a reportable part of your #SocialValue proposition. I'll be talking about this at Chartered Institute of Fundraising #NWConference in Chester next week. At Quick Will / FreeWills for quite some time now we have been seeing a heart-warming trend in Will writing, with more and more people choosing to leave pledged gifts to charities. It’s a powerful reminder of how we can make a lasting impact to the causes we care about. A huge thank you to Remember A Charity for the incredible work they do behind the scenes, raising awareness and supporting the inclusion of charitable gifts in wills. Their dedication helps to ensure that charities continue to thrive and make a difference for generations to come. If you're thinking of creating or updating your Will, with us or any other reputable Will writing company, why not consider leaving a gift to a charity close to your heart? It’s a simple way to leave a legacy of kindness. 🌱 #RememberACharity #RememberACharityWeek #WillsAndCharity #LeaveALegacy #GivingBack #CharitableGifts

Beneficiary or service user: This is a term used to describe the people or organisations that will be helped by the charitable organisation and their project. Is it a helpful term? We prefer to say “people we help” or “people we support” because beneficiary can feel a bit clinical and “them and us”. How do you refer to those who your charity exists to help? #thecharityspark #chartyjargon #thirdsector

Making Charitable Donations? Read This First! Donating to charity isn't just about feeling good; it's about making informed choices. Whether you're giving to a local NGO or a big international organization, it's important to know how these donations are used, what tax benefits you can claim, and the legal aspects behind them. Are you aware of the rules for 80G exemptions? Don’t let your generosity go unnoticed, especially by the tax authorities! Ensure you're doing it the right way, both for the cause you support and for yourself. Link to the blog is here: https://lnkd.in/dtTKUtNY #charitablegiving #taxexemptions #donations #80G #vaquill

For anyone wondering what my new diamond🔸is for: It stands for the🔸10% Pledge, a commitment to give 10% of my income to effective charities until I retire. I am not sharing this to boast, but because taking The Pledge is probably one of the most important and impactful single decisions I will ever make. And I think you may want to consider it too. Although I am a student / working at a mostly-volunteer NGO, my modest donations still already approach saving someone's entire life. Over my lifetime, this commitment will probably save at least dozens more. How many people can you help save? You can learn more about giving effectively at gwwc.org/pledge

Two thirds of retail stock loss is driven by 10% of shop thieves!!!! These persistent and prolific offenders are often caught in the cycle of addiction, and if you don’t tackle the route cause you simply don’t tackle the problem!!! The NBCS foundation raisies money for some fantastic causes that helps and supports those individuals to break the cycle of addiction by addressing its route causation. Every single penny raised at this event will go to those just causes. Monies raised will not go into our profit pot, pay a large bonus to its employees or buy a fancy car. It will be put back into supporting those organisations that will ultimately help our industry. Next are proud to support the NBCS foundation and we hope that retailers, vendors and other organisations alike are prepared to do the same, please share this post as far and wide as you can. It’s simple…buy a table, invite your colleague’s, get dressed up, have a few glasses of wine or a beer or two, have a dance, enjoy a night of socialising with your peers and pretend your at the Eco Power Stadium or Anfield 😉, it really is as simple as that!!! We are at risk of having to cancel the UnCharitable Documentary Screening scheduled for Thursday March 14th at Manuals River! What if charity could be transformed from a gesture to an answer--to solving the world's greatest problems? What if everything we've been taught about charitable giving is wrong? What if it's undermining the very causes, we love the most? UnCharitable is a one-of-a-kind movie that shows how our charitable traditions and prejudices have suffocated the charitable sector and prevented it from leading the charge to truly change the world. While AFP NL Strives to bring great benefits and low costs to our members and non-members, sometimes we must charge a fee. The rights to screen this documentary, in addition to the cost to rent a theatre, meant we had to put in place a cost. Please know that we do not charge this lightly but do so to provide unique and valuable opportunities. Ticket sales end today - March 8 - at 4:00pm NST! Please consider purchasing your ticket now to ensure this event goes ahead --> https://shorturl.at/cGLSV

Have you written your will yet? It’s not hard, and this week is a good time to do it – because it’s 'Remember A Charity in your Will’ week. This is an annual celebration of the power and impact of legacy giving. Don’t know what that ‘legacy giving’ is? We can explain. Around £3 in every £10 donated to charity comes through a gift in someone’s will - a legacy gift. It makes a huge difference, and some of the nation’s best loved charities just wouldn’t exist without them. There are all kinds of reasons someone may choose to leave a gift to charity in their will. For example, as a thank you for the support they or a loved one has received; because they believe in the cause; because they want to leave something meaningful behind. You can choose any charity that’s close to your heart, whether that’s supporting arts and music, protecting the environment, pioneering life-saving treatment or supporting people in your local community through some of the toughest times in their lives. Whatever you can leave will make a difference. 💛 Find out more at https://lnkd.in/efQw3yx4 (And tick 'write my will' off your to-do list. Because if not now, when?) #CharityFundraising #LegacyGiving #CharityChampion #willanthropy #GiftsinWills

Does your nonprofit seek a good deal of its financial support by offering up to its donors and prospects the most pathetic and tragic examples of needs being served by the organization? Even going as far as to publish and broadcast photos and videos of its saddest cases? Early in my career we called this "CHARITY PORN," and for good reason. Because of its very negative and exploitive approach, charity porn was rather rare. Today, however, it is the preferred way for several larger nonprofits to motivate it's donors to give, and to attract new donors. I am a believer that the average donor is not only caring, but smart. You as a nonprofit leader may be able to move someone to making a first gift by using charity porn... But, you won't be able to retain them using these tactics. Donors respond better to positive and lasting results from what were tragic situations. #fundraising #donorretention #donorattrition #donoracquisition #charityporn #nonprofits
