Thank you for everything you do to make My Muscle Chef better. Here's to many more milestones together! 🥳
This first half of 2024 marks 10 years since I took on a management position at Pura Ração Lda. What seemed like an impossible task to accomplish with high performance standards, nowadays seems less impossible. Between victories and defeats, it is the failures that i find difficult to overcome, overshadowing the brilliance of the victories, which fortunately were overwhelming in number. May the next 10 years be filled with the brilliance of victories, and may they be shared with the entire team! They were and will always be the result of all of us, team, customers and suppliers.
In a market where the biggest companies are getting bigger and bigger, leading a company whose nature continues to be familiar will certainly continue to be challenging.
Today I’m celebrating one year at Tyson Foods.
In only 12 months, I have been fortunate enough to experience 3 different roles each one with a bigger and more exciting scope than the other.
My hard work didn’t go unnoticed and I am grateful for the trust of our leaders and for the recognition I have received.
Some of my highlights from this reflection:
*winning the MAD performance award 🥇
*heartwarming performance feedbacks from managers and leaders♥️
*being encouraged to get creative with solutions, challenging the status quo! 🧠
*getting pushed outside of my comfort zone & encouraged to make mistakes we can learn from✨
*leading key initiative & transformational projects ✍️
*building tools, processes, dashboards & resources that our teams, worldwide, rely on daily for their work to be done efficiently & reported back on💻
*being HEARD and INCLUDED 👂
*meeting incredible bright minds all over the world 🌍
*2 back to back promotions 🎉
Comparing my knowledge, skills and ways of thinking YTD, I realize that while significant progress can’t be seen on a daily basis, we shouldn’t give up.
It’s important to work on incremental improvements daily as over a 1 year duration, the compounding effects are quite significant.
THOUGHTS I
After failed attempts chores to help me fall asleep here I am on laptop again as still awake.... As I open my linkedin found this post grabbing my attention . I am always busy doing " something " but this last few years have been an increase on such with me going beyond my normal .
In the middle of all I started I also included my very own introspection where I performed four routines : see it , read it , understand it , change it accordingly .
It has been a long -and at times painful - process but I have found answers , solutions and improved some of my concepts.
Such introspection has been my biggest project and during it I did what this post says times and times again :
RESTARTED dreams , aims and targets I had given up on
RESET believes on which I had lost confidence / trust in
REFOCUSED my mindset in order to better define my actions / responses
Some re-starts were hard but somehow got over them , resetting at times brought me even more pain / disappointment but dealt with it and refocusing has become a daily routine for me .
Some changes still scare me but I keep doing them . Just as an example : I had gain the fear of hugging / getting close to people in general as started to fear " exposing myself too much " but kept doing it . The main difference nowadays resides on the fact that when doing it now I don't feel so comfortable avoiding it in some situations.
My self protecting has increased ( not sure that is good or bad if honest ) and in spite of fearing " excess of exposing " I still do acts like posts here contradicting myself to a certain extend...
Have even considered " shutting my mind " for a period of time but then decided to face it up instead.
Maybe the concept of " my life project " has become bigger as I go through its phases reason why I am still opening this much of me .
I feel myself changing, feeling emotions I had given up on / feared and concerning some topics still working them out ...but I am hopeful I am on the right path and my answers will appear when the time is right .
Some thoughts on teaming and leadership:
My husband and I moved to Mule Town — Columbia, TN — last year. Mule Day has been around since 1934 and has been an annual event in Columbia since 1974. Today we enjoyed our first ever Mule Day festivities at Maury County Park. We spent a good bit of the day watching the mule pulling contest — four different weight classes of mules competing to see which team of two could pull the most weight. I’m no expert on mules, but here are a few things I learned:
1. Every team has three chances to pull the sled a total of ten feet.
2. The judges add weight to the sled until the mules can’t pull any more.
3. Generally, mules can pull 2.3 to 2.4 times their body weight. For the larger classes, that can exceed 5,000 pounds.
4. It’s in the nature of the mule to pull. Once a team was connected to the sled, not one team had to be coaxed to do its job.
5. Every single team came to the point where it just couldn’t pull any more weight.
#teaming#leadership
The video: Mules in the largest class, with a combined weight of 2,800 pounds, pull 4,000 pounds.
A new catalogue; how exciting!
It’s such a great use of taxpayers’ hard earned (and worth less) money.
Your tax dollars are paying for this incredible foolishness, fellow Canadians. Watch this short video.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH SUPPORTING BENEFITS OF MEDITATION AND YOGA -
As Arjun immersed himself in the practice of meditation and yoga, he became increasingly curious about the scientific research supporting their benefits. He discovered a wealth of studies that validated the positive effects of these ancient practices on mental and physical health.
1. The Neuroscience of Meditation: Modern research in neuroscience has shown that meditation can have profound effects on the brain. Studies using brain imaging techniques have found that regular meditation practice can increase the density of grey matter in regions associated with memory, learning, and emotional regulation. Meditation has also been shown to reduce the activity of the amygdala, the brain’s fear center, leading to decreased stress and anxiety.
2. The Physiological Benefits of Yoga: Yoga has been extensively studied for its benefits on physical health. Research has demonstrated that yoga can improve flexibility, strength, and balance. It has also been found to lower blood pressure, reduce chronic pain, and enhance cardiovascular health. Yoga’s emphasis on mindful movement and breath control is believed to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting relaxation and reducing the effects of stress.
3. Mental Health and Well-being: Both meditation and yoga have been shown to have significant benefits for mental health. Studies have found that these practices can reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, improve mood, and enhance overall well-being. The practice of mindfulness, a key component of meditation, has been shown to increase emotional resilience and improve cognitive function.
4. Stress Reduction and Resilience: Meditation and yoga are effective tools for managing stress and building resilience. Research has shown that these practices can lower cortisol levels, the body’s primary stress hormone, and reduce the inflammatory response associated with chronic stress. By promoting a state of relaxation and enhancing emotional regulation, meditation and yoga help individuals cope with life’s challenges more effectively.
