When I started building MySidecar AI and I would share the concept, I often heard different versions of the following: - Aren't you putting yourself out of a job? - You are productizing yourself - There is big consulting money to be earned in this That's the wrong perspective. It's a perspective that the value of what an individual can bring is limited to gathering co-leading at formatting information. The real value is in judgment. It's in synthesizing new ideas, establishing priorities, building a strategy, and then transforming it into action. By leveraging the power of AI to do the heavy lifting on that information gathering and preparing, you can focus on these other areas which are much more interesting and much more fun.

Recently, I've learned the benefits of 'it's not perfect, but...' When we are looking for titles for studies or opening paragraphs, it is easy to come up with ideas that aren't great, but instead of rejecting them, it is often better to look at the parts that are good and take it from there. This goes for AI users too. AI often suggests, well, AWFUL titles! However, the wording or small parts can often be salvaged and reused in a better title. So, in comms, especially #scicomms, it is always worth looking at even your team's bad ideas and polishing that nugget of good material in there. While it may not turn out to be gold, it can often be used as a raw material for a success.

I'm considering some workshop topics. Which one would you choose? 🎙️ 1️⃣ The IPO Framework - how I build custom GPTs to support administrative, creative, and strategic work. 2️⃣ Using AI to Understand Oneself - Use AI to learn about, organize, and articulate your unique value and professional narrative. 3️⃣ The Value of Humans in the Age of AI - What's left when AI can do all the tasks? Our emotional intelligence, our taste, our references, the custom tools we've built ourselves, our intuition, the sum of our experiences. So what? How do we use those things for work?

Just a friendly reminder that goals only work when they're continually visible to those meant to achieve them. If you launched 2024 company or team goals: 1. Do they exist in writing? 2. Does your team know where? 3. How are updates tracked and communicated? Yes, AI is exciting. But fundamentals matter.
