❓ How AI and Strategic Marketing are Changing the Future: Lessons from Pratham Mittal and Harshal Karia Welcome to Day 31 of our series on accelerating your journey as an entrepreneur or marketer. Today, we’re reflecting on the inspiring session we had with Pratham Mittal , co-founder of Masters’ Union, and Harshil Karia, co-founder of Schbang. Their insights into how AI and strategic marketing are shaping the future left all of us deeply inspired. Pratham shared how Masters’ Union focused on strategic marketing by investing 80% of their budget—₹8 crore out of ₹10 crore—into content marketing, data-driven strategies, and targeted campaigns. The results were clear: every lead was generated through marketing. His key takeaway for us? Marketing must be strategic—every penny spent should be aimed at building long-term growth through content, personal branding, and the right channels. We were all impressed by how Pratham’s methodical, focused approach turned Masters’ Union into a recognized name in education by leveraging marketing in such a deliberate way. Harshal’s insights on AI and creativity at Schbang completely reshaped how we think about marketing’s future. His message was that AI doesn’t replace creativity—it enhances it. Schbang is using AI for everything from personalization to automation, which helps them craft campaigns that connect deeply with their audience while saving time and resources. His demonstration of how AI-driven creativity leads to more effective, targeted marketing was inspiring for all of us. The most significant item on this list is 5. I see this in my work for clients. On average, a post by the CEO or other leader will receive nearly 3X the engagement of a post from the brand account. ➜ On social media, people want to follow people. ➜ They don't want to follow brands. Positioning team members as content creators is the biggest marketing opportunity for B2B brands. However, it also presents challenges. It's just so different from how marketing was done in the past. The teams and companies that adapt will have the upper hand.
The new rules of marketing. Live or die by them. 1. Distribution > Everything: Audience growth is and will be the most important skill to learn. 2. Product <> Marketing Channel Fit: Channels will never bend to fit with products; you have to pick the right channels for your product. 3. Marketing Ops to AI Ops: Every high-growth marketing team needs an AI Ops team. 4. Lead Magnets to User Magnets: AI can mass-produce educational content. This makes traditional lead magnets (ebooks, templates) harder to scale. AI also makes code cheaper, creating an opportunity to launch freemium apps. 5. B2B creators are part of your marketing mix: Today's marketing channels favour individuals vs. brands. Creators will be part of a modern marketing mix, likely it will take 15% to 20% of what series D and public companies spend on paid advertising today. 6. M&A for Distribution: Most M&A deals in B2B are for product or sales reasons. We'll see more deals for distribution reasons. The only deal I'd never do is for communities. The integration challenges outweigh any upside you might get. 7. Marketing takes over more of the customer journey: Marketers are the automaters in most companies. AI will mean marketing can automate much more of the customer journey, parts of the SDR role, and customer support roles. See AI Ops rule :) 8. Fall in love with the craft: We've all fallen in love with data, hacks, and experiments. We need to fall back in love with the craft. AI will make this more important. Centralize domain expertise and decentralize regional knowledge: When building a global marketing strategy, create central teams around domain expertise that serve all markets and regional teams around roles where regional knowledge is critical. 10. These transformative times create so many opportunities, opportunities to do things first, opportunities to do much more creative work; AI is going to make it easier for us to go from idea to publishing that idea live.
