We are delighted to announce one of the biggest milestones in our mission to transform chronic wound care — our CLEANVLU Phase IIa clinical trial report, which demonstrates proof-of-concept and safety of Aurase Wound Gel in humans, has now been published in International Wound Journal. Aurase Wound Gel aims to provide, for the first time, a safe, pain-free, and effective treatment for millions of people suffering from chronic wounds worldwide, and we are incredibly excited to be progressing this product through further Phase II studies. Our Chairman of the Board, Andy Weymann, MD, MBA, comments: “The peer-review publication of our Phase IIa data not only provides important validation to enable further Phase II studies, but also highlights the clinical potential of Aurase Wound Gel to treat millions of patients globally safely and effectively, addressing an urgent and unmet medical need. With this excellent data we are now fundraising to support the next phase of SolasCure’s clinical and product development.” Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/d4EbWtYd #WoundCare #ChronicWounds #ClinicalTrials #HealthCare

After watching the The White House Clinical Trials Forum and as someone who has witnessed the impact of clinical trials firsthand, I feel compelled to share my thoughts on this crucial topic. Our colleague, Monica's brave battle with cholangiocarcinoma has opened my eyes to the urgent need for more accessible clinical trials, especially for rare and aggressive cancers. Clinical trials are often the last beacon of hope for patients facing life-threatening illnesses, yet many are unaware of their existence or face significant barriers to participation. We need to do better in educating both patients and doctors about available trials and their potential benefits. I'm encouraged by the recent FDA release of the Diverse Access to Enrollment Action Plan, which aims to increase diversity in clinical trial participation. This is a step in the right direction, but we must go further. We need to ease eligibility criteria, rethink the use of placebos in certain cases, and make trials more patient-centric. Organizations like the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, recently seen on the panel at the White House Clinical Trials Forum, are doing incredible work in advocating for patients and pushing for more accessible trials. Their efforts are crucial, especially for lesser-known cancers that often receive less attention and funding. >>link to White House Clinical Trials Forum from June 26,2024 https://lnkd.in/d6BjtDGx >>link to the Diverse Access to Enrollment Action https://lnkd.in/dzzQu4JH #ClinicalTrials #PatientAdvocacy #CholangiocarcinomaAwareness #AccessibleHealthcare

"There Was No Opportunity to Express Good or Bad" - quote from a patient in our clinical trial participant focus group research conducted with diverse patients in oncology, neurology and chronic disease. To learn more, check out our recent publication in the Journal of Patient Experience below. This data and other research our survey scientists conducted, were pivotal in forming our standardized measures of Patient Experience in Clinical Trials (PXCT) which are being validated across >45 trials in the US. Once complete, these measures will not only help retain patients and diversity in trials, but also define patient centricity and introduce new KPIs based on the patient voice. Special thanks to Savvy Cooperative for their support in this research. The exchange of social capital between a patient and care team is important to driving positive patient experiences during any hospital visit. The same is true for clinical trials. Learn about the critical role of patient centricity in clinical trials and the barriers faced, including access and uncertainty, in “There was No Opportunity to Express Good or Bad," from the Journal of Patient Experience. Key Points in Sage's recent article regarding perspectives from #patient #focusgroups on #patientexperience in #clinicaltrials: •#Patientcentricity is critical in facilitating trust and #patientengagement during #clinicaltrials. •#Patients enrolled in #clinicaltrials want to be asked about their experience. •Regular and frequent communication with #patients should occur, even after trial completion. •#Patientcentric resources, for example, user-friendly technology, transportation, and on-site support, can impact #patientexperience. I was recently invited to share my insights with Brian Bossetta regarding the FDA’s new initiative aimed at advancing clinical trial diversity. The FDA's Oncology Center of Excellence (OCE) has launched an Equity Program to improve access to oncology clinical trials for historically marginalized groups, including racial and ethnic minorities, rural populations, and those facing barriers to healthcare access. The initiative is a significant step towards reducing health disparities and ensuring that all patients have the opportunity to participate in potentially life-saving trials. If oncology clinical trial participants do not adequately reflect the diverse groups of people who are affected by cancer, there is a risk of developing treatments that may be less effective or have different side effects for certain ethnic or racial groups. It may also perpetuate existing health disparities and limit access to cutting-edge therapies for these communities.
