1wNACCHO does such good work; it’s just unfortunate that those states that have primarily centralized public health ‘systems’, are left out of NACCHO opportunities. Having attempted to engage in public health in my Northern New Mexico small county, it’s a serious catch-22: NMDOH doesn’t have the capacity to engage much at the local level (understandably so!) and citizens and public health professionals at the local level have few resources or supports to address critical local needs.
