💼 𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙛𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙨? They’re more than just political jargon; they’re a powerful tool for funding local projects! 🏛️ Earmarks, also known as “congressionally directed spending,” allocate federal funds for specific projects within a community. This can include anything from infrastructure improvements to educational programs. For example, earmarks have funded flood mitigation projects and urban park developments, directly benefiting local communities. For municipal agencies, securing an earmark means accessing dedicated funds for essential projects without the need for competitive grants. This can be a game-changer in meeting community needs and enhancing public services. Curious about how to leverage earmarks? Start by understanding the community’s needs, demonstrating local support, and collaborating with your Congressional representatives. #rojaspublicaffairs #federalearmarks #communityfunding #municipalagencies #publicaffairs

Are we doing enough to support communities recovering from natural disasters? U.S. Rep. Greg Steube's recent success in passing the Federal Disaster Tax Relief Act highlights a crucial step in helping families rebuild after devastating events. This bipartisan legislation simplifies claims for disaster-related losses, making it significantly easier for those affected by hurricanes, wildfires, and other calamities to access critical financial relief. For Florida residents, the impact is particularly poignant, with many still grappling with the aftermath of recent hurricanes. By eliminating the burdensome 10% Adjusted Gross Income threshold, this law allows more individuals to claim the relief they desperately need. As real estate professionals, we must recognize the importance of such measures, ensuring our clients are aware of the support available to them during challenging times. This legislation serves as a reminder that recovery isn't just about rebuilding homes—it's about restoring lives and communities. Let’s continue to advocate for policies that strengthen our resilience against future challenges and support our neighbors in need. #DisasterRelief #CommunitySupport #FloridaRealEstate #Resilience #BipartisanEfforts #TaxRelief

I am writing to express my deep concern about the ongoing recovery efforts in the wake of the recent hurricane that has severely impacted Northern Georgia, Northern South Carolina, Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, and Southwestern Virginia. As we approach the upcoming election. It is critical that we ensure all citizens, particularly those affected by this disaster, are able to exercise their right to vote without obstruction. Many of the counties in these regions have been hit hard, with widespread damage to infrastructure and displacement of families. Given these circumstances, I urge you to take immediate steps to ensure that emergency voting measures are in place, including: Establishing clear guidelines for mail-in ballots for residents who may not be able to travel to polling stations due to damaged roads or other barriers. Extending early voting periods in affected counties to allow ample time for recovery and access to voting locations. Providing transportation assistance or setting up mobile polling stations in areas where people are displaced or where infrastructure has been severely impacted. It is troubling to witness that, so far, the response from the current administration in delivering aid to these regions has been delayed. While I hope that this is not the case, it is difficult to avoid the appearance that this inaction disproportionately affects areas known to lean Republican, raising concerns about the potential suppression of votes. We must rise above political considerations and prioritize the needs of our citizens. Voting is a fundamental right, and no American should be prevented from casting their ballot due to inadequate disaster recovery efforts. I implore people in charge to act swiftly to ensure that these communities are supported, not only in rebuilding but also in participating in our democratic process. The integrity of our elections and the trust of the American people depend on it. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your response and to hearing how you will work to protect the voting rights of all citizens in the affected regions.

Today, Rebuild by Design launched the Atlas of Accountability, a brand new mapping tool that takes a county-by-county look at which communities have been impacted by designated extreme weather disasters. We found that: - 100% of states and 91% of congressional districts have had at least 1 federal disaster declaration. - of the districts with 10+ disasters, two-thirds are represented by Republicans and one-third by Democrats. Just as extreme weather shows no partisanship, neither did post-disaster aid: - Over $100B in federal funds were awarded to districts all across the country - The states that received the most funds per capita were both blue and red: LA, NY, NJ, ND, and VT As the #ClimateCrisis continues to pose threats to our country’s most vulnerable, we hope Atlas of Accountability is used by communities and lawmakers to develop #Bipartisan policy and to build resilient infrastructure that lasts for years to come.
