Norman approaches his work with the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Child Care Services program through the lens of culture, traditions, and ancestral wisdom, fostering identity and belonging among Native children and families. His commitment integrates cultural teachings, family involvement, and safe, supportive spaces to empower the next generation. According to the study, 1 in 3 Gen Z (under 30 years old) Black and Latino educators anticipate leaving the profession, with 71% of those expecting to leave within 1-2 years. This echoes an IAU report that the district is projected to lose 100 Black educators per year, while fewer Black educators are entering the profession at LAUSD. :-( This research is so important to discuss, especially as we are thinking about the future of education. Thank you Diversity in Leadership Institute for this work!
