One of NAMES 2024 second day's workshops at Konya Bilim Merkezi (Konya Science Center), Turkey, "Fall in Love with Your Problem", was led by Shireen Sabanegh, Museum Management Expert, and Ayman Elsayed, Senior Manager of Education Programs, The New Grand Egyptian Museum. . It is human nature to love answers; that tendency can prevent us from coming up with deep solutions. We all face problems in our organizations; each requires a different solution. How do we clearly define our problem, to insure we find the right solution? When thinking of a solution, how do we ideate? What strategies can we use to insure we overcome our counterproductive tendency to fixate on a specific solution? What do we do when we come up with more than one possible solution, which one should we go for? . Title: FINAL CALL: Is inter- and transdisciplinarity living up to its promise in RRI? Dear LinkedIn network, This is a final call for submissions for the track: Is inter- and transdisciplinarity living up to its promise in RRI? at the coming international conference 28th to 30th August in wonderful Oslo, Norway, entitled: Transformative Research and Innovation. The conference is financed by the Research Council of Norway and the venue is a gorgeous location, overlooking the Oslo Fjord. https://lnkd.in/dujBQ2XB There is an exciting line-up of key-note speakers comprised of international RRI and innovation experts: https://lnkd.in/d5npM_xd We are welcoming abstracts between 400 and 600 words, excluding references. Please find the call for track #4 here: https://lnkd.in/dFxSA2h6 The final submission deadline is 15th March 2024 Short abstract: Research funders call for inter- and transdisciplinarity (Arnott, Neuenfeldt, & Lemos, 2020; International Science Council, 2021; OECD, 2020; Solomon, Carley, & Porter, 2016); fostering these novel approaches to research is viewed as a priority in research policy. Such calls may originate in some major concerns: First, scientific disciplines act more and more like silos, that do not communicate well, if at all. Specialization of and within disciplines closes their relevance and communication with other knowledge areas. Second, humanity faces a number of wicked problems (Crowley & Head, 2017), typically addressed as grand societal challenges (OECD 2020). The way to solve these is to encourage interactive collaborations across disciplines and various knowledge systems (Alvargonzález, 2011). Please feel free to reach out to me should there be any questions and share this call in your networks. Best wishes, Matthias (on behalf of Harald Throne-Holst, Christian Wittrock and myself)

Four reasons why it makes sense to publish congress presentations in a video library! A congress is a platform for the exchange of ideas and discussions about current developments in various scientific fields. This exchange is expanded and not only experienced live, but also made available online in an online video library. ➡️ Let's take a look together at the profits you have as a congress organizer with a video library: 1. You enable a transfer of knowledge beyond your congress: this access to high-quality content helps to improve the quality and scope of scientific papers while promoting scientific exchange on a global level. 2. All your scientific videos are in one place: Elevate your event by integrating scientific videos directly on your website. Make your talks accessible and enhance your online presence. 3. Contact with association members all year round: giving your members year-round access to crucial scientific work, not just during conferences or meetings. 4. You can reuse the content of your congresses and open up new fields for your target group. Our customers repeatedly report on the lasting impact of an online video library for scientific work, the increased attractiveness for sponsors and the growth in new members. Want to find out more? Just write to me for a non-binding initial consultation. #metafusion #videolibrary #videoplatform #smartvideolibrary
