Wrapping up its 95th year in business, the Hospital Thrift Shop presented a check this morning to Nantucket Cottage Hospital totaling $625,000. Hospital president, Amy Lee, commented, “I can’t thank the staff and volunteers of the Thrift Shop enough for their ongoing dedication and hard work. These much-needed funds will go toward new, improved mammography equipment, a new state-of-the-art ultrasound machine and supplemental funding for employee housing." The Hospital Thrift Shop has donated more than $8 million to the hospital since 1929. Dear Supporter, The Noor Memorial Trust Hospital is aimed at providing comprehensive medical care to underserved populations in Pakistan. Set to open in the Summer of 2024, our 65,000 sq ft facility will feature 65 beds across seven floors, serving an estimated 404,000 beneficiaries in the surrounding regions. The vision of the Foundation for Surgery is to strive for a world where all children, families and communities can access quality surgical care when they need it most. The Foundation raises funds that support activities in RACS Global Health, Indigenous Health, rural and remote health, Younger Fellows and more. Its mission is to raise funds through donations to assist in addressing critical surgical need in disadvantaged communities, improving health equity as well as supporting research and training that advances surgical practice and patient care. SOCAN: A Lifeline for Cardiac-Afflicted Children Cardiac disease is a leading killer among children, but advancements in surgery and interventional technology offer hope—90% can live a full life, while 10% can live longer and better. However, treatment remains prohibitively expensive, with 40% unable to afford it. SOCAN (Solution for Cardiac Afflicted Needy) addresses this challenge through a Public-Private Partnership that ensures quality care and dignity. Collaborating with skilled professionals, Public Health Centre (PHC) hospital, and Hearts for Hearts (H4H), a Public Charitable Trust, SOCAN project has already performed 460 life-saving surgeries. A sustainable model is envisioned through a ₹5 crore corpus fund, generating ₹50 lakhs annually to support surgeries.
