NAP 1325’s Post

Earlier this month, we joined Plan International NL for an impactful event on 'Girls in Conflict', addressing one of the most pressing issues in conflict-affected regions worldwide. The event explored crucial questions about creating meaningful impact in the world's most challenging contexts, highlighting the severe challenges girls face in conflict zones - from sexual violence to forced marriages and denial of education. The program featured moving video messages from Tasia and Aliet, young activists from South Sudan, demonstrating incredible resilience in the face of adversity. A thought-provoking panel discussion brought together diverse perspectives from Danielle Hirsch (Member of Parliament, GroenLinks-PvdA), Anne-Floor Dekker (Director, WO=MEN, Dutch Gender Platform) Salwa el Sadik (Wadi), and Sadia Allin (Director Plan International Somalia). The discussions reinforced that while challenges are significant, our collective commitment to support girls in conflict zones remains unwavering. Through partnership and collaboration, we can develop solutions that transform lives. #WomenPeaceSecurity #NAP1325 #GirlsInConflict #GenderEquality #UNSCR1325 #WPS
