Seed treatments are important because they can help protect crops from diseases and pests, improve germination, and increase crop yield: Protect against disease and pests Seed treatments can protect seeds from diseases like root rot and seedling blights, and from pests like insects and nematodes. Improve germination Seed treatments can help seeds germinate uniformly, avoiding delayed germination or irregular emergence. Increase crop yield Seed treatments can help farmers get a better return on their investment by protecting plant stand and yield potential. Reduce negative impact of weather and field conditions Seed treatments can protect seeds and young plants from weather and field conditions that prevent farmers from applying crop protection products after sowing. #Tstanes offers two biological fungicides, Bio Cure-F and Bio Cure-B, that use Trichoderma and Pseudomonas to manage disease: Bio Cure-F: A biological fungicide that uses Trichoderma viride, a beneficial fungus, to control diseases like root rot, root wilt, seedling rot, and color-rot. It can be used on crops like tomatoes, potatoes, and bananas. Bio Cure-B: A biological fungicide that uses Pseudomonas fluorescens. Azoxystrobin is indeed the active ingredient in several fungicidal products, including those from Avior ChemicalsAzoxystrobin is a broad-spectrum fungicide used in agriculture to protect plants from a wide range of fungal diseases. It is commonly used on crops like cereals, fruits, vegetables, and turf. Azoxystrobin works by inhibiting mitochondrial respiration in fungi, thereby preventing their growth and spread. Key points about azoxystrobin: Mode of Action: It inhibits the electron transport chain in the mitochondria of fungal cells, specifically at the Qo site of Complex III, leading to the disruption of ATP production and cell death. Application: It can be applied as a foliar spray, soil treatment, or seed treatment. It is often used preventatively before signs of disease appear. Spectrum of Activity: Effective against various fungi, including Ascomycetes, Basidiomycetes, Deuteromycetes, and Oomycetes. Safety and Environmental Impact: Generally considered safe for humans and animals when used according to label instructions. However, care should be taken to minimize environmental impact, as it can be harmful to aquatic organisms if it reaches water bodlawn #trending #viral #landscaping #pestcontrol #lawn #horticulture

"Soil Microbes: The Unsung Heroes of Soil Health" Soil microbes form a dynamic community that plays a vital role in supporting plant growth and maintaining overall soil health. Among these microbes, several species stand out for their unique contributions: 1. Nitrogen-Fixing Bacteria Nitrogen-fixing bacteria, such as Rhizobia, convert atmospheric nitrogen into a form that plants can utilize, benefiting both the plant and soil fertility. 2. Mycorrhizal Fungi Mycorrhizal fungi form symbiotic relationships with plant roots, increasing nutrient uptake and improving soil structure. 3. Trichoderma Fungi Trichoderma fungi control plant pathogens, promote plant growth, and produce antibiotics. 4. Bacillus Subtilis Bacteria Bacillus subtilis bacteria decompose organic matter, recycle nutrients, and produce antibiotics. 5. Pseudomonas Fluorescens Bacteria Pseudomonas fluorescens bacteria produce antibiotics, inhibit plant pathogens, and contribute to nutrient cycling. 6. Azotobacter Bacteria Azotobacter bacteria fix atmospheric nitrogen, promoting soil fertility and plant growth. 7. 𝐒𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒚𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐧 While delving deeper into the knowledge of natural plant protection processes, I came across an interesting and lesser-known fact about 𝑆𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑝𝑡𝑜𝑚𝑦𝑐𝑒𝑠. This bacterium is known for its properties that support the protection of plant crops against soil-borne pathogens. Soil-dwelling 𝑆𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑝𝑡𝑜𝑚𝑦𝑐𝑒𝑠 bacteria impact crop production and enhance plant resistance against pests by producing natural antibiotics like streptomycin. 📚 𝑆𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑝𝑡𝑜𝑚𝑦𝑐𝑒𝑠 are particularly adept at targeting plant pathogens, which include bacteria and fungi such as 𝐸𝑟𝑤𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑎, which causes fire blight, 𝐹𝑢𝑠𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑢𝑚 spp., which can affect everything from tomatoes to wheat, and 𝐵𝑜𝑡𝑟𝑦𝑡𝑖𝑠 𝑐𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑎. 📚 𝑆𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑝𝑡𝑜𝑚𝑦𝑐𝑒𝑠 also benefits plants by: 1️⃣ Improving soil fertility; 2️⃣ Influencing induced systemic immunity; 3️⃣ Increasing plant tolerance to stress; 4️⃣ Improving seed germination. But do You know? 📚 One of the most universally loved natural scents is that of rain falling on dry soil, commonly known as 𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐫. It involves a compound called geosmin, which is produced by soil-dwelling bacteria known as 𝑆𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑝𝑡𝑜𝑚𝑦𝑐𝑒𝑠 🌱. 📚 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐧 is responsible for the earthy taste of beets and the strong scent that arises from soil after a rainstorm. This compound is so potent that the human nose can detect it at concentrations as low as 5 parts per trillion. 📚 The production of geosmin by 𝑆𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑝𝑡𝑜𝑚𝑦𝑐𝑒𝑠 bacteria is thought to be a by-product of their production of 𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬. These bacteria release spores when conditions are moist, which likely contributes to the strong earthy odor as a signal of fertile and healthy soil, guiding animals and humans towards environments conducive for agriculture.
