Just wrapped up an incredible Regional Owners Workshop at Richard Childress Racing! Much like a NASCAR pit crew, success in the restoration industry requires precision, collaboration, and a relentless focus on efficiency. SERVPRO GM’s and owners from across the region came together to discuss how we can tune up our operations—whether by learning from past mistakes or identifying areas for improvement—to drive better results. We focused on what it takes to keep a business running smoothly, year after year, while fostering growth and long-term sustainability. Many-a-salesman have tripped and fallen over this step. Qualifying customers for their purchase is the bane of some salespeople’s closing. This is an excerpt from Luke’s Monday evening Closers Club coaching call. Laddie is one of our Paid 2 Persuade veterans who always steps up to the plate during role-playing time. What does he still need ? PRACTICE. Like any other professional in their respective field, he practices and trains. This particular role-play scenario emphasizes the importance of qualifying your customer. They get so darn close to the finish line… then they’re hit with the poor credit score. Selling these people the whole barn before making sure they could pay for it all. Let’s give credit where it’s due- Laddie usually bats 1000 during role-plays, but today he was kind enough to give us a learning moment. Thanks Laddie, congratulations on being human! Closing a Chapter: Moving On from Trakerli After a lot of reflection and wrestling with the emotions of what feels like failure and worrying about what others may think, I’ve made the difficult decision to bring Trakerli to an end. This wasn’t an easy choice, but I’m choosing to focus on the incredible journey it’s been. What started as just an idea evolved into a working prototype, and while the process was challenging, it was also deeply rewarding. Even though we didn’t quite reach the finish line, the experience has taught me invaluable lessons—about product development, sales, and the real-life challenges of bringing a new idea to life. It’s been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, but I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who supported us along the way, whether through advice, encouragement, or simply believing in our vision. Your support truly made all the difference. As I look ahead, I’m excited about new opportunities and challenges where I can apply everything I’ve learned. If you’ve got any ideas or opportunities in mind, I’d love to connect.
