I am very honored to have had the opportunity to meet Jason Kilar, the founder of Hulu and ex-CEO of WarnerMedia, today through an introduction by my former teacher and friend, Bill Guttentag. Eight years after graduating from GSB, returning to this learning environment felt like coming home. I walked away with four pages full of notes, brimming with Jason's wisdom. An inspiring overview of her first 100 days as Vice Chancellor from one of HE's best and strongest leaders, Shân Wareing. My three key takeaways: -"it's possible to thrive on a sense of purpose and responsibility...The feeling that what we do next matters can sharpen our senses and increase our stamina." -the more public and the more private activities of VCs need to be intentionally scheduled so time for both is created. -"Higher education equips us to solve complex problems, and now we need to turn those skills on ourselves."

NEW EXTENDED DEADLINE! We invite cross-functional teams of students, staff, administrators and faculty from each campus to apply for the 2024-25 Middle Leadership Academy by Friday, September 20. The Academy is an academic, year-long, professional development opportunity for evidence-based projects, collaborative learning, and leadership development. The program is grounded in a problem-based learning model that motivates participants to “lead from the middle” as they explore and apply strategies to support equitable student learning, engagement, progression, and success on their campuses. Interested teams should identify a team lead that will complete and submit the application on behalf of your team.
