On this World AIDS Day, we celebrate the progress in the effort to end AIDS by 2030! New biomedical tools such as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), and long-acting antiretrovirals offer hope in reducing HIV transmission. However, it is crucial that these advancements in HIV treatment and prevention are made available and affordable for everyone, especially in developing countries. In East and Southern Africa, approximately 20.8 million people are still living with HIV. Currently, 79% of those living with HIV know their status. While we have made significant progress, there is still much work to be done to achieve the 2030 target of ending AIDS and realizing the ‘95-95-95’ goals.Let’s continue to advocate for equitable access to treatment and support for all! #WorldAIDSDay #EndAIDS #HealthEquity #SRHR
