Reflection: This letter is broken down into three pieces: 1. Festivals and fasting 2. Premeditatio malorum 3. Anger The first piece, the one about festivals and fasting, is secondary in my eyes to the final two. Yes, we all need to be mindful of the fact that at Christmas time we go absolutely bananas. However, this short and sweet letter speaks about how we should always strive for knowing what might be coming and our anger. These are two areas in my life that I have always struggled with. If I don’t focus on what could go wrong, a lot of times whatever issue I’m facing does go wrong. If I let my anger give me “madness,” no one wins in the end. I need to focus on detaching myself from what is currently happening at work or in my home life and and rededicating my efforts to reduce my anger and live harmoniously.

The underlying intention of greetings on festivals and other occasions! Do we really think before we greet others on these occasions. Are we doing to feel good for ourselves or because we really care about the people whom we are greeting or forwarding some greetings send by a friend. If it is the former, then most of the greetings that we see are Ok. “To all my Fb friends, to everyone, etc” If it is the latter then, who are we greeting in particular, the specific person concerned and if so, do we mention the name. Greetings come from our hearts and so it needs to be genuinely felt and received. Otherwise, we are just an item on the senders list and there is really no sincere emotions or feelings involved. That to me, robs the message of the real genuine intent and so not really fair to the receiver.

10 THINGS YOU ENJOY DOING If you are feeling drained and want to get out of this state, the first step is to admit to yourself that you do feel drained. Admit to yourself that a part of you has a tendency to work harder and harder to cope with the pressures of work. It’s almost as if you have put your life on hold. You can do this for a limited period of time, e. g. if there’s an exam to pass. I know, concerts can feel just like exams, like occasions in which you have to prove yourself. But you can’t stay in “exam mode” for months or even years. Yet, many professional musicians do just this. Here's an invitation for you. Create a list of ten things you enjoy doing. The list can contain things you enjoy in the context of your work or outside of it. It can contain things that cost money and things that don’t. It can contain things that you need a lot of time for and things that only take a few minutes. When you have finished, look at your list. How does it make you feel? Notice how your body reacts to the idea of doing those things. Then narrow the list down to three things you can integrate into your life within the next week. Finally, pick one that you can do within the next 24 hours. Make a commitment to yourself to gift yourself this one thing. Today. Once you have done it, thank yourself and celebrate! You have just done something to fill up your tank again. If you like, share what you chose in a comment. I would love to hear from you! A crowd gather ahead of me, enjoying the jazzy music at Portobello Road Market in London. Three fellows, of whom two seniors, happily blasting out beautiful music and obviously having a wonderful time of their life. Swaying to the music, it strikes me that they are enjoying themselves what they love doing and , at the same time, making some money for keeps with their skills whilst bringing joy to others. As we get on with life, everyone will still desire to be useful, deliver happiness to others, and not wanting to be a burden to society being freeloader. You get to keep your dignity. Be useful and dignify, bring happiness to others and, use your skills to make your keep whilst delivering joy to other. Dont be a freeloader of life.

All Fools' Day Don't be deceived. The proper way to spell this day is "April Fools' Day." This spelling has been used since the 1800s. Why? If you understand your apostrophes, then you know that placing the apostrophe after an S indicates a plural. There is not just one fool on this day; there are many tricksters roaming around! No one knows for sure how April Fools’ Day began, but there are some theories that trace it back to centuries ago. One possible origin is an ancient Roman festival called Hilaria, which took place at the end of March. During this celebration, people would wear costumes and masks and make fun of or mimic others. A possible origin of this tradition is 16th-century France. Charles IX changed the start of the new year from around Easter and spring festivals, which lasted a week, to January 1. Some people did not know or accept the change and kept celebrating the old new year. Others made fun of them by sticking paper fish on their backs and calling them "poisson d'avril", which means April fish. In Scotland, a common prank was to send someone on a phony errand called "hunting the gowk," or to attach fake tails or "kick me" signs to their backs without their knowledge. Some people think that the name "All Fools" was intended as a mocking contrast to All Saints' (November 1) and All Souls' (November 2) Day. Some people like to take April Fools’ Day to the next level by creating elaborate hoaxes or fake news. Here are some examples: - In 1905, a German newspaper called Berliner Tageblatt claimed that a group of robbers had tunneled under the U.S. treasury and stolen $268 million worth of silver and gold. - In 1957, the BBC broadcasted a story about how Swiss farmers had a record harvest of spaghetti, along with a video of people picking noodles from trees. You can watch the video here: https://lnkd.in/eZKZeaxc - In 1962, SVT (Sveriges Television) was the only TV station in Sweden that broadcast in black and white, and it announced that viewers could convert their existing sets to display color by pulling a nylon stocking over the screen. - In 1983, Boston University professor Joseph Boskin created a story about the origin of April Fools’ Day when speaking to an AP reporter. He said the day originated when Roman Emperor Constantine agreed to let one of his jesters, “Kugel,” become “king for a day.” Boskin, of course, made the entire story up. - In 1985, Sports Illustrated published a fictitious story by George Plimpton about a never-before-heard-of pitching prospect by the name of Sidd Finch, who could throw a baseball 168 miles per hour. - In 1992, NPR aired an interview with Richard Nixon, in which he declared his intention to run for president again. It was, of course, not Richard Nixon, but rather an actor. Who composed this one? Are you taking us back or forward? So, I would go and learn the national anthem at this age? These are some reactions I have gotten from Nigerians since yesterday. For those thinking of how to learn the new 'old' national anthem, I've got you Here are 3 Easy Ways Nigerians Can Learn The New National Anthem 🔷Listen to Recordings Regularly: 🎈Search for the anthem on music streaming platforms or YouTube. 🎈Create a playlist that includes the anthem and listen to it daily. 🎈Use it as a background while doing household chores or exercising. 🔷Sing Along: 🎈Start with karaoke versions of the anthem to practice singing. 🎈Record yourself singing and listen back to identify areas for improvement. 🎈Gradually try singing from memory without the recording. 🔷Practice with Friends or Family: 🎈Organize regular practice sessions with friends or family. 🎈Create a challenge or game where each person recites a line or stanza. 🎈Perform the anthem together at family gatherings or community events. Have you started learning the new national anthem? If yes, how are you learning it? Share your tips and experiences in the comments below

In 2009, I met 2 of my future bridesmaids in Jamaica on vacation. And yes, I have a tip for making friends… As I honeymoon here with my husband, we keep making new friends each day It’s funny because as you get older, it gets harder to make friends. It’s easy to get shy. Self-conscious. Anxious. It’s simple: Know what is happening in your town/city/conference/event. I love starting conversations and talking about upcoming events and activities. Boom. Conversation started. Now, dive deeper and ask more thoughtful questions. Like, what was their favorite concert in college? What type of music did you hear growing up? Etc… Pro tip: get a cup with your name on it so people know you and come up to you 🤭 How do you make friends? Or do you feel it is weird/hard?

2wOver X-Mas, I spent a week in Belize alone fasting and exercising and not reading the news or anything on the Internet. Spent days truly doing nothing but staring at the ocean. I lost 7lbs and finally fully disconnected from most things to become truly present. Then spent a day trapped in the airport on my way back (but didn't lose my zen).
