America just marked the 91st Anniversary of Repeal of Prohibition—an institution that was meant to address alcohol problems associated with the earliest part of the 20th century. All these years later, America's alcohol regulations remain a reaction to the same problems that Prohibition was meant to address. Yet we live in an era when the economy, society, culture, and technology bear no resemblance to this long-gone period. It's time for reform. I think the host of this channel is just trying to foment a debate in this discussion.Their is no question that their is a serious policing problem in America.The issues span from innocent people being convicted as a result of police misconduct to cops not being adequately trained to deal with people who are mentally ill. We can also site the criminal injustice system that allows cops with poor records to be cops (Sandra Massey and Tamir Rice as exmaples.) You then have bad cops. You then have cops who do not report the bad cops. With that said,as tax payers ,we do want police assistance when things go left. However,even in that instance we can quickly go from being the victim to the victimized like Ms. Massey.Normally the host of this channel speaks and debates in a curt manner. Today (August 23) is the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition. Slavery is a term that most of us assign to past centuries, but it exists in a different form today. In 2023, it is estimated that 41,000 people in Australia were held in conditions of modern slavery. That includes all relationships based on exploitation - including using coercion, violence, threats, abusive power and deception to manipulate and control a person's freedom. In this video, UniSA anti-slavery researcher Dr Nerida Chazal discusses modern slavery as a hidden crime that is capturing the attention of the Federal Government, which is on the verge of appointing the country's first Anti-Slavery Commissioner. Today also marks the launch of a new book co-authored by Dr Chazal and Kyla Raby titled "Modern Slavery in Australia" and a panel discussion about modern slavery. Repeating myself, only for emphasis: America is our country and the standards of behavior we demand of our representatives shouldn’t be lower—they should be #HIGHER. We should demand intelligence and integrity, moral codes, and behavioral standards. Tell me, how many of you would willingly invite AOC, Mitt Romney, Pelosi, Speaker Johnson, etc. into your homes to watch your children while you and the spouse took in a movie? If your answer is like mine, “Ah HELL NO!” Then maybe these people should NOT hold public office. Regardless of how much money they throw at getting elected. We the citizens of America need to remember this litmus test and then act according to the findings. #Integrity matters! #MoralCode matters! #Honesty matters! #BehavioralStandards matter! #Intelligence matters! These should not be the punchline of a politician joke, but a gold plated, titanium cored, measuring stick to improve the political atmosphere in EVERY elected office in America!
