Unless you’re at an Overland Expo… These two TruckHouse boxes sit on American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) enhanced Ram 3500 trucks. They came to do some testing on the Oregon Dunes. It’s not often I get a chance to see prototype rigs out in the wild, so to spend a few minutes with the people from TruckHouse and AEV was a great experience. Yes, I’m like a child oohing and aahing at a 4th of July fireworks show when it comes to top of the line expedition vehicles. My well-equipped Sprinter van in the background would barely be a down payment on these new vehicles. However, the most impressive thing about American Expedition Vehicles and TruckHouse are their capabilities to start with an idea, and build it into a business. Businesses that basically build, or at least redefine, a niche in an industry. Most people don’t go gaga over this stuff like I do (my wife, for one), but I have great admiration for people who create and do things that I have no ability to do. That ranges from people who have great talent as athletes and musicians, to fabricators, and anyone that thinks outside the box to get something done. Few people have the creative genius to develop the rigs shown, and even fewer can turn that genius into a business idea. #overlandexpo
