ICYMI: Watch our latest video summarizing NCEA Senior Fellow Tristan Abbey's recent report on U.S. LNG exports. In his report, Abbey criticizes current U.S. LNG policy by saying, "If we’re already the world’s top LNG exporter, is there even a problem to solve? Absolutely. The federal government’s approach to approving LNG exports has been highly politicized for the past decade, a condition that will only worsen without corrective action to fix a mess that partisan ideology and obscurantist electioneering have joined forces to create." LNG has a 100 year role to play for powering the globe and those without natural gas resources. This was a disservice to American interests and our global allies and it never should've happened. Blatant political pandering. Permits should be a simple regulatory process and not a political tool. If you don't want LNG to happen, then use the democratic process and legislate it. Otherwise, deal with it. Another example of self-inflicted wounds to our national interests and prosperity. Comically, Russian LNG deliveries to Europe have increased since the Ukraine war started. Talk about a diktat that missed the mark. #TraditionalEnergy #OilAndGas #LNG #AllOfTheAbove

Gastech, a recent gas-industry jamboree, was full of enthusiasm. Amid a blizzard of deals by energy ministers and fossil-fuel giants, delegates cheered: their product is set for a starring role in the green transition. Yet there was uncertainty, too. Criticism was heaped on President Joe Biden, who has paused permits for American export terminals of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Insiders also worry that the global LNG market, which became vital to Europe and Asia after the war in Ukraine began, could soon face its first true test. With demand rising and supply failing to come on stream, a new scramble for gas could be in the offing.
