If only everything could be broken down into 10 Steps... Fortunately cyber security for larger organisations with 250+ staff can be. Our comprehensive guide includes risk management, training, access management and supply chain security⬇️
Following some of these properly is difficult in many organisations, e.g. supply chain management, or employee training. A really key area, I think, are the "logging and monitoring" and "incident management" stages. Whilst damage may already be done at this point, there is almost always a way for blue to catch the red/black before anything bad really occurs. But perhaps the challenge here becomes resources - over-sensitive flagging takes up IT support time. Hopefully the rise in hardware compute capabilities would allow more powerful AI systems to thoroughly check even the slightest hint of suspicious activity. An exciting field!!!
Its important to remember that cyber is a journey, not a one off activity. Having 'steps' is a great framework to guide us but we should avoid a 'tick box' approach to the steps and aim for continuous improvement through regular monitoring.
Actually cyber can be broken down to two steps, Stupidity and Malware. I cannot prevent Stupidity, I can SAFELY open and process malware infected files as no-longer-infected, ROATI.com/non-digital.
