PART 1 Video - New day, New Challenge...and who doesn't luv a challenge! We were tasked with forming concrete into shapes with embossed lettering in different colours this required custom moulds so the colours did not bleed into each other and a custom Mpa of concrete for smooth setting. We then had to cut into existing concrete and install them level with the existing surrounding surfaces. Big shout out to Lamond Contracting for working with us on this project for Wingercarribee Council. Another well executed project. #bespokesignage #concretesignage #lamondcontracting #cunneensigns

🚧 Construction Challenge: Uneven Flooring 🚧 Uneven floors can complicate steel partition installations, leading to alignment and stability issues. At Steel Partitioning UK, we conduct a thorough site survey to identify irregularities before materials arrive at the site. Our made-to-measure steel partitions are designed to accommodate these adjustments, removing any alignment concerns or gaps from an uneven surface. Discover more solutions to common construction challenges in our latest article: https://bit.ly/48JsJB9 #SteelPartitions | #SiteSurvey | #ProjectManagement

Parapet wall and Stair tower Parapet is a dwarf wall or heavy railing around the edge of a roof, balcony, terrace, or stairway designed to prevent those behind it from falling over. they are primarily used as guard rails, to conceal rooftop equipment, reduce wind loads on the roof, and to prevent the spread of fires. The minimum height of the parapet wall should be approx 3.5 feet. Parapet walls should have a minimum thickness of about 9 inches for masonry walls and 6 inches for reinforced Concrete (RC) walls. In order to prevent the dampness, parapet walls should be plastered from both sides. Stair Tower A house like structure above the top of the topmost floor to cover our staircase area and provide surroundings and roofings to stairs termed as Stair tower. Also there is door opening to provide movements on the Roof slab of last floor. #civilengineering #practicalknowledge #hard60daychallenge #technicalSkill #CivilGuruji #Engineering #PracticalKnowledge #EngineersBro

𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐃𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 Today on The Build Review, we're taking you on a tour of a basement project in Austin, Texas. Our host, Matt Risinger, a builder experienced in unconventional projects, invites architect Steve for an in-depth review of this unique construction. In the video, they discuss the challenges of building in Austin’s rocky terrain, the importance of natural light in basements, and the use of a large sliding glass door for illumination. They also cover design details like a home exercise room and a concrete sill pan. Practical aspects of basement construction such as drainage systems, rust prevention with fiberglass ties, and the concept of ‘aging in place’ are also highlighted, with the installation of an elevator for the homeowner's long-term convenience being a key feature. While basements can be costly and slow to construct, and can sometimes lead to maintenance issues, careful planning and a meticulous approach can mitigate these concerns. #Construction #BuildingTips #Basements #HouseBuilds #Design

It’s myth busting Monday. Think metal roofs are cheaper than concrete roofs? Total myth! Fact: Concrete tiles save you approximately 20% compared to metal sheeting when considering the entire roof construction. We did a cost analysis using the same roof and asked a number of our customers to price a concrete tile roof and a metal sheeting roof. This included the timber and installation costs. The findings: a concrete tile roof is a very cost effective solution when you take the entire roof construction, including your roof timber, trusses and installation costs, into account. Switch to concrete tiles for a stylish, cost-effective and long-lasting roof. Contact: info.sa@bmigroup.com #itsneverjustaroof #coverland #rooftiles #concreterooftiles

When you have a fire rated wall, let’s say it’s a gypsum wall, and it comes under a concrete deck, we all know the building code requires us to firestop that. But what about the bottom of that wall? Do we have to firestop THAT? Well, if you go to IBC 715.3 it says joints installed in or between fire-resistance rated walls, floors or floor/ceiling assemblies…shall be protected by an approved fire-resistant-joint system…. It gives a bunch of exceptions, but the bottom of wall is not one of them. I have heard valid arguments that suggest bottom of wall should be added to this list, but shaft walls would of course be the exception to this. Check in tomorrow and I will share a discussion about #BuildBetter #FirestopCoffeeBreakTraining
