Podcaster friends -- Apple's iOS changes that have significantly affected podcast metrics have had me thinking. Is it time for RSS hosts to adopt a standardized system to measure the growth or health of a podcast that does not rely on raw download numbers? Or does this already exist? I'm thinking it would be a simple score that is weighted measuring numerous metrics that is easy for podcasters and -- maybe more importantly for professional podcasters -- sponsors/potential sponsors to understand.

Interesting read about Podcasts in Education 👓 Being genuine and real with your audience and letting your personality shine is so important for engagement.
I create podcasts, photos and videos for school marketing or alumni engagement. Training for school marketing teams too. Global.
I just recorded the first episode of a new school podcast with the Headmaster. Here are 3 things he did absolutely perfectly on the recording: 1. He didn't 'present' like he was at a lectern on Speech Day. Instead it was a conversation - something that's crucial for any podcast 🎤 2. He didn't oversell the school. People don't listen to a school podcast to be sold to, they just want to connect with the school at a deeper level 🔗 3. He let his personality ooze through, something that can't be faked which means it builds authenticity. He also talked about his love of 80's Techno Music - some of the audience will share this passion, some absolutely won't. That's all good 👨🏼🎤 Most people who speak on a podcast have never done it before. The best way to speak is to absolutely be yourself - nobody can ever compete with that. The new podcast will be released soon.

Ever wondered about the best way to plan your estate? In the latest episode of The Legacy Talk Podcast, the spotlight is on the advantages of opting for a revocable trust over a will. The differences? They're like night and day, especially when it comes to administration and simplicity. Plus, revocable trusts come with a slew of benefits that we've unpacked in this and previous episodes. But that's not all. This episode also dives into a topic that's a bit more personal - a love for music. From the classics of the 50s to the hits of the 80s, music has a way of connecting us all, and it's a passion that's shared in this segment. Curious about how a revocable trust can be your probate slayer? Or maybe just in for some good music talk? Check out the full episode to get the lowdown on both. Trust me, it's an episode you won't want to miss. Find the link to listen in the first comment below. #EstatePlanning #RevocableTrusts #MusicLovers #TheLegacyTalkPodcast #ProbateSlayer

Group Operations Director | Helping individuals and organisations thrive with innovative learning and development solutions
In this week’s episode of The Conveners Podcast, Andy King's guest is Sarah Haden, whose in-depth knowledge of the sector makes for a very compelling discussion. Sarah works for the Active Partnership as the Director of People and Partnerships and is also a Churchill Fellowship Fellow. She will detail her experience of studying how systems thinking was being utilised in Australia and discuss key learnings from her fascinating paper ‘Translating systems thinking into practice to get communities physically active’ which provides an appropriate correlation as Sport England are investing £250m in to Places and Whole Systems thinking. I hope you enjoy this episode, it’s an interesting one with a unique outlook! Spotify – https://lnkd.in/erzHGHDC Apple - https://lnkd.in/euSrZGN4

"As a media economy, we need the creator economy to explode. It is THE GROWTH. And not in a bad way. If independent filmmakers.. documentary filmmakers who are having a hard time right now - could understand how to self-distribute, REALLY self distribute.. isn’t that a good thing? Then they don’t ever have to go beg for the studios to help them out anymore. Right? Those are the things that we really need, as a community to really lean into. Because those are the things that will make us sustainable.” - Evan Shapīro. As someone who is inherently curious - driven to take things apart, understand them and make them into something better - I have been looking at the media industry, connecting w/ independent film community members and friends in the mainstream TV + Film industry - many of whom seem blindsided by the shape of the media industry right now. I sometimes sit down and explain to my young kids (who *both* have YouTube channels) about why my parents were proud when - at age 3 I taught myself how to work a VCR to record my favorite shows. To explain how we used to have to *wait* for our favorite content to come on once per week for 30 min. They sit listening with their jaws dropped. The work of content creators have been the ONLY thing my kids are interested in .. since 2020. They aged out of Netflix kid shows + are not interested in polished/manufactured series dramas geared towards their demographic. They are ONLY interested to consume content made by ppl they relate to + share their interests.. and they want that content on their own terms. My 11yr old sat me down this AM + explained his strategy to monetize his content the second he turns old enough (18 according to YouTube) + pitched me a business partnership. Independent film + media have been my life's work. Independent filmmakers, I agree with what Evan says in this video: That as a community - we need to lean-in to our collective community distribution know-how. Filmmakers: I don't expect you to know how to be a cinematic genius + a marketing genius all at once :) but this is a moment in time where you should be sure to (before your production is nearing completion) bring in someone smart + innovative to help you build out a distribution plan. When making your film ask yourself.. if the public are by + large tuning in to YouTube + social media - more so than Netflix/ Amazon .. how can you intentionally format your storytelling for this audience? (before it's done.. rather than after the fact.) My hope for our film community is that - (due to .. I dunno - just a hatred for YouTube + a sense that audiences should just find YOU and your work) creators and storytellers don't continue sit with their arms folded .. in a huff.. saying into an echo chamber "why won't people watch my stuff?" it's because the audiences have moved elsewhere. There has never been a more important time to tell your stories. Creators, you got this. #creatoreconomy #filmindustry #distribution
