David Kalokitis, Senior Technologist at Osmose, recently presented on contact voltage testing and field measurement techniques at the Jodie Lane National Conference hosted by EPRI. The event is named after Jodie Lane, who was tragically electrocuted by stray voltage while walking her dogs on a snow-covered junction box - one of hundreds of shock incidents that happen per year. Another post about Bug Mars, but this one more of a PSA: If you live in the kind of place that might have radon gas in your home, get it tested. https://lnkd.in/eKsZXFJw When integrating one of the air quality sensors we use in Hexapod, I got an unpleasant surprise: the concentration of radon in my home was very high, higher than the actionable level. It was a relatively simple fix, fortunately: with a crawlspace exhaust fan installed, the levels dropped to almost nothing. If you've never heard of this before (like me), it's worth testing for, especially if you live in an area where it may be common. You can get a professional test kit, or use an air quality sensor such as the Airthings Wave Plus.
