My tryst with Case studies commenced under the guidance of Dr. Akshay S. Bhat , with my comprehension of extant LCC model , issues as observed and corresponding envisaged sustainable solutions. Despite having a high load factor and efficiency, the market share of Low-Cost Carriers (LCC) was limited to 34%. Additionally, weak exchange rates and the cost of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) were reducing the gap between LCC and Full-Service Airlines (FSA) in terms of operational costs. In order to compete more effectively, LCC must develop a business model that can rival FSA. One potential solution is a Hybrid model, where flights are divided into sections that offer services similar to FSA while maintaining the cost-effective LCC model. This strategy has the potential to increase revenue, operational profit, and improve the load factor. Furthermore, implementing a Hybrid model would allow LCC to expand internationally, rather than being limited to the Indian market.

I am glad to share our co-authored working paper (with Tuhin Das) entitled "India’s Civil #Aviation Sector: Exploring Recent Performance Trends" as published by Ascension Centre for Research and Analytics (# #ACRA). The paper discusses about aviation sector #performance from 2018 to 2022 and captured how the sector is recovering from the adverse impacts of Covid 19 pandemic. The study has also compared Indian aviation sector's recovery with selected #developed and #developing countries correlating with the #economic recovery of these countries.
