With potential shifts in federal education structures, educational leaders are now called to strengthen advocacy and collaboration skills to address student needs effectively. This includes building coalitions with state policymakers, parents, and community organizations, as these alliances can drive meaningful change. Proactive leaders view challenges as opportunities, engaging stakeholders to foster educational equity and support systems. By leveraging these coalitions, they can ensure that the voices of students and educators are heard and valued in state and local policy decisions. #leadership #education #k12 #educationalpolicy

My name is Akoss Schuppius, I am a doctoral student in organizational leadership at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. I invite you to participate in my research survey. The survey seeks to examine the impact non exposure or the exposure to content on self-advocacy had on you as a participant in a leadership program and whether you feel that the exposure was indeed sufficient for you to better advocate for yourself and/or invite others to advocate on your behalf. Through this study, I am interested in understanding the perception of advocacy for self in an organizational context examining discrimination, advocacy at work, and organization support. https://lnkd.in/e4rbwCRD

Today, we're proud to feature Principal Mary Hatzimichalis of PS 131 in New York City's District 15. Key Insights from Principal Hatzimichalis: Commitment to District: "I love our district and finally made it to my dream of being a principal of a school where I can then make a difference on more lives." Holistic Approach: "When you leave your child here, you want to know that people are sensitive to their needs and that they will be taken care of, not just physically but emotionally as well." Civic leadership? Community engagement in higher education? Does it really matter? Civic leadership is core to the quality, purpose and relevance of global higher education. A foundation standard of Australian universities is a commitment to demonstrating: 👉strong civic leadership, 👉engaging with local and regional communities, and 👉commitment to social responsibility. Australian University Colleges, likewise, are expected to demonstrate civic leadership in the fields of education they offer. Why does civic leadership and engagement matter? 👉The powerful reciprocal benefits of connecting teaching-research-civic leadership are compelling. 👉Creativity and innovation are fostered in new places of connection. 👉Civic leadership bolsters university relevance and social license, increasing our chances of connecting with community, new knowledge discovery and improving educational opportunities and success for all. #CommunityEngagement #CivicLeadership #InclusiveLeadership #CoDesign #HigherEducationLeadership #SocialResponsibility Engagement Australia CIVIS - Europe's Civic University Alliance School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership at Arizona State University UPP Foundation American Council on Education
