For too long, student voices have been silenced in the history of school boards. But we believe that giving students the power to influence the policies that govern them is the essence of democracy. Together, we can create a future where every student has a say and a stake in their education. #StudentVoice #TogetherInEd #NSBMA

Colleges today are drifting away from their core ethos and principles as conflicts between administration and students escalate. Once bastions of intellectual growth, campuses reflect a struggle over control and priorities. What was meant to foster open dialogue has become a battleground of policies and power plays. As the gap widens, basic human tendencies—the need for community, respect, and shared purpose—are replaced by division and disparity. Students and faculty are increasingly disconnected, with fragmented communities further divided by ideology, background, or social standing. This growing divide undermines the very foundation of higher education: unity in diversity and a collective pursuit of knowledge. It’s time to bridge this gap before we lose sight of the true value of education—collaboration, integrity, and progress for all. #EducationReform #CampusCulture #BridgingTheGap #StudentLeadership #CollegialSpirit

From Bakke (1978) to Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard (2023), the court cases concerning our country's most selective schools' use of race-conscious admissions policies show a sustained blueprint for how we can achieve diversity, equity, and integration within American education. If you are curious to learn more about the legal thinking and decisions in these cases, feel free to download my chart: "Jurisprudence of Affirmative Action in Higher Education". Any Supreme Court case decision impacts everyone: from the most powerful decision-maker to the most humble kid on the block. Since I have always championed the underdog, I would like to draw attention to and help educate others about our current Supreme Court's overturning of a half-century's worth of progress on this issue. Forward progress, backwards progress, not enough! #schooladmissions #admissionsprocess #highereducation #affirmativeaction #socialjustice
