This research on Roots Tourism carried out by Università della Calabria and CREA Ricerca originates from the idea of studying more in-dep-th, besides the phenomenon of the promotion of Italian agricultural and food pro-ducts, the interest in olive growing activities from a tourism perspective, with specific reference to persons having deep bonds with Italian cultural identity. Roots Tourism - that we can define as a type of tourism based on the search for one's family roots and on recovering places and traditions - is a topic that Sonia Ferrari and Tiziana Nicotera have studied in-depth extensively, with the publication some years ago of the First Report on Roots Tourism in Italy. https://lnkd.in/dqEFgb6t

Good news for the development of #cultural #tourism linked to the #Cultural #Routes certified by the Council of Europe!!!!. From the Task Force on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe we are launching a new Working Group on Cultural Tourism, coordinated by the Routes of the Emperor Charles V, and in which participate Le Corbusier Destinations: Architectural Walks; Cyril and Methodius Route; The Route of the Historic Cafés; Transrománica; Via Regia; the Impressionist Routes; the European Cemeteries Route; and Via Romea Germanic. The aim will be to analyse the potential of cultural routes for the development of tourism products, to exchange good practices in the field of cultural tourism linked to the routes, and to create a guide with recommendations that will help the routes certified by the Council of Europe to develop cultural tourism around their routes and the territories in which they are present. The purpose is to contribute, through the heritage, history and values that these routes represent, to the socio-economic development of their territories; to a better knowledge of them at European and international level; to a greater interest and knowledge on the part of the citizens of these territories of their history and heritage; as well as to a greater participation of these, and of the businesses linked to the tourism sector in these territories, in the activities organised by the Cultural Routes certified by the Council of Europe.
