We hope your weekend is as fabulous as this creation, made by one of our visitors using an interactive in our Conversations Gallery. The prompt for this image was a “vintage, futuristic, silly, novelty cat made of flowers to help humans evolve.” This interactive, designed by Melanie Huang, introduces visitors to AI Image Generation in an accessible and easy-to-use way. The AI image generation is powered by Leonardo.Ai . We created this new visual campaign for the National Communication Museum's exhibition 'Instruments of Surveillance'. Leveraging a machine-learning object detection model in p5.js, it's another example of our exploration into the use of technology as part of the design process — fitting given the exhibition topic. "Instruments of Surveillance grounds an age-old and contentious topic in the human and the everyday. From government spooks, data-extraction and activism through to generative AI, this exhibition unravels the interface between human and machine, inviting audiences to unpack the technologies that people use to surveil and their role in it." Top Tips N++ AI is simple. Looking for that "Ah Ha!" moment to understand AI? Look no further than the WISARD machine from 1984 (yes, really): https://lnkd.in/dgXAntDS And an easy to understand description of how it works is here: https://lnkd.in/d9wptbeq Now for the "AhHa!" moment. One development involves taking the output image when something is recognized, delaying it by a short time, and then mixing it in with the stimulus before writing the stimulus back to memory. Connected in this way the machine has the ability to learn for itself, and is possessed of a state structure. E.g. if trained in sequence with the letters J-O-H-N, then on subsequent presentation for recognition of the letter J, it will proceed to generate the output J-O-H-N.
