#MDO is a socio-cultural endeavour with #data as a strategic asset - an additional perspective to Multi Domain Operations which was shared in the international panel with insights from US, France and UK at the #DWT MDO II conference. My key takeaways from day 2: Different speeds of national innovation and experimentation can be of benefit for the #NATO alliance as well as NATO member states. MDO needs to be thought holistically: integration of military in the context of MDO into a total national enterprise should be an overarching objective. Hardest part of the sensor to shooter implementation challenge is the “to”: solutions are necessary which ensure that the commander gets the relevant information at the right time under consideration of data integrity and security. My résumé: Without questioning the national #sovereignty, active international collaboration and exchange within the NATO alliance in particular for complex endeavours like MDO is key for increasing the speed and maturity of national implementations as well as eventually ensuring interoperability and cohesiveness. Experience and expertise in leveraging synergies across organisations as a long-term partner of NATO and the national defence & security organisations is one of our #CGI assets. Interoperability is the foundation for seamless collaboration among #NATO Allies and partners. In fact, the effort to implement #interoperability, also known as federated interoperability, is hard-wired into day zero of any NATO mission. But what exactly is interoperability? It's the ability to act together coherently, effectively, and efficiently to achieve goals. And the Coalition Warrior Interoperability Exercise (#CWIX) is the largest event that NATO and nations use to test a range of #Command & #Control capabilities and IT services to achieve this goal. This year's iteration of the exercise is scheduled to take place in June with 42 participant nations, along with seven observing nations, testing more than 480 capabilities. Lessons Learned are the building blocks of progress. The #NATO Lessons Learned Conference, hosted by NATO JALLC, gathered experts from NATO and its member nations discuss and share their insights on how #LessonsLearned can be used to achieve #NATO's strategic goals. And the winners of NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) Innovation Challenge for their cutting-edge solution for remote mine clearance operations are: 🥇BROSWARM, Lithuania🇱🇹 🥈Unmanned Dynamics, Lithuania🇱🇹 🥉AAEG, France🇫🇷 Congratulations! The challenge received 51 entries from thirteen countries, and the finalists presented their solutions to a panel of nine judges from NATO commands, the Lithuanian institutions, and subject matter experts. The objective of the Innovation Challenge was to develop innovative solutions for remote reconnaissance and neutralization of explosive-contaminated areas to ensure the safe passage of civilians or military formations and facilitate recovery efforts. By focusing on remote mine clearance operations, this edition of the Innovation Challenge underscores #NATO's commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology for humanitarian and strategic purposes. The NATO Innovation Challenge serves as a powerful model for international cooperation in the face of global security threats, fostering collaboration between member nations, academia, and industry. What is a NATO-accredited COE? A NATO-accredited Centre of Excellence (COE) is a multi-nationally or nationally established and sponsored entity, which offers recognized expertise and experience within a defined subject matter area to the benefit of the Alliance within the four pillars of NATO’s COE program. A COE is not a part of the NATO Command Structure (NCS) or of other NATO entities, but forms part of the wider framework that contributes to the functioning of the Alliance.
