Behind the Scenes of My YouTube Experiment It was on Christmas Day, 2023, that I first had the idea to do special VIP Days with a twist as Youtube content. 2 days later, I was in Dallas with my family recording with Monica:) The premise of this type of video is that I give away a $10k VIP Day of business coaching to an entrepreneur, and then give them a bonus experience. In this case, it was courtside seats to the Mavericks game that evening! I ended up doing this type of video 3x in Q1 2024, but it didn't catch fire. But on the anniversary of the sparked idea (yesterday), I had another one: refurbish the video and post it again, now that I've added 91,000 Youtube subscribers (!!) this year. So I did some duct tape editing (my editor is on Xmas break) and took an 80min video down to ~23mins. I also am a/b testing the original thumbnail with one that I didn't use before but that I realized will probably perform better than the original. And I just posted it a few moments ago. The goal is for the viewer to get informed as a fly on the wall, entertained by the premise, and inspired by the entrepreneur's full experience. Oh and even though the original vid didn't "catch fire", I know that Monica got a lot of love and attention even with a couple thousand views. So I hope this reignites something for her. Let's see what 2025 brings when it comes to this type of video. What I've learned this year from growing my YouTube channel by 91,000 subscribers and $40,000 in revenue from ads alone is that it's all about experimenting, analyzing the data, and being willing to try over and over again. https://lnkd.in/g_EmrmVK
