I'm thrilled to be presenting again at the renowned NCFTA’s Disruption. For three years running, I've had the privilege of sharing insights with this esteemed gathering of law enforcement professionals, private sector leaders, and academic experts from around the world. This year, I'll be diving into the fascinating intersection of culture and financial crimes with my session titled "Cultural Background in Financial Crimes: Tips On How To Use Cultural Knowledge To Aid In Crime Investigations." Drawing from my experience in cybersecurity and financial crime analysis, I'll explore how understanding cultural nuances can provide valuable context and aid investigations into fraud, money laundering, and other illicit financial activities. Whether you're a law enforcement agent, corporate investigator, or researcher studying financial crime trends, you won't want to miss this opportunity to expand your knowledge. I invite you to join me at this fantastic event. Let's connect and continue pushing the boundaries in effective crime-fighting strategies! Feel free to reach out if you'd like to discuss my session's topic. I look forward to an insightful exchange of ideas at Disruption. #ncfta #disruption24

As we enter International Fraud Awareness Week, the ECSRC takes this opportunity to revisit some of the key takeaways from Financial Investment Month. A smart investor always does due diligence on an investment opportunity (avoiding “get rick quick” and “can’t lose” schemes), verifies that an investment professional is licensed, and ensures the use of strong passwords and good data security practices such as two-factor authentication on accounts containing financial data. Current and potential investors are also encouraged to check the Fraud section of the Investor Centre on our website at ecsrc.com. #fraudweek #fraudawareness #investmentfraud #duediligence #fraudavoidance

Recently, our Head of Collaboration, Rosie Campo, and our Head of Data Products, Warren Bulmer, presented to over 300 members of Westpac’s Financial Crime Surveillance team. They provided an update on the topic of child sexual exploitation (CSE), focusing on online-facilitated abuse and exploitation and how it relates to a financial institution. The presentation highlighted the costs of the crime from both an operational and human impact perspective, emphasising how financial institutions can continue to help fight CSE by utilising data and online footprints left behind by those using financial platforms to detect and report the crime. At ICMEC Australia, we provide a variety of support initiatives to the financial services industry to help strengthen the response to CSE, including: - Webinars and events - Training and awareness programs - A collaborative working group focused on financial crime - Technological solutions such as ICMEC Australia’s Data Product and Red Compass Labs CSE typologies portal #ICMECAustralia #FinancialCrime #ChildProtection #CSEAwareness #OnlineSafety #FinancialInstitutions #DataProducts #FightCSE #CyberSafety #RedCompassLabs #Collaboration #ProtectingChildren #EndCSE #TrainingandAwareness
