What's a fair commission on a marketplace? Well, how much work is it doing for you? Here's a list of leading marketplace take rates (commissions). Etsy is 7%. UberEats is 32%. Leading expert networks charge you ~70% to connect with experts who are likely also on other networks. 3 Things I learned at the takealot.com Marketplace Summit 2024: 1. Sitting next to other marketplace sellers, some whom are competitors, made me realize this is a race and you are only competing against yourself. 2. You can't run forward at speed, when you are looking towards your sides at your competitors. Focus on your own strengths, your own network, your own customer. 3. A good business makes money, but a great business builds the community and country in which it operates.
