Our latest article was developed from a partnership project (MedAID) among Mediterranean countries. We established the first benchmarking tool for quantifying biosecurity levels in food fish. The findings revealed that land-based hatcheries and pre-growing facilities exhibit higher internal and external biosecurity levels. However, on-growing facilities face biosecurity challenges due to limited control over seawater exposure. Farm location plays a critical role in influencing external biosecurity, emphasizing the importance of spatial planning in aquaculture. Across all farm types, low biosecurity scores were recorded for vaccination, biosecurity programs, and record keeping, highlighting the need for improvement. https://lnkd.in/dY2FvTmd
