We know that we have not only the responsibility, but the great potential of being agents of change and generate a positive impact amongst ourselves, and the social and natural environment that surrounds -and in many ways makes- us. We are convinced that economic growth must go hand in hand with personal growth and respect for the environment, which is why in this year 2024, we´ve planned with the desire to align our actions to the natural environment's needs. With this being said, today we officially introduce our sustainable action plan: "Eco-House For Communities". 🌱 This is a special co-creation with Mariaeladia De Moya Cuello, our Community Impact Manager, who will be guiding us and our collaborators in this journey. We are eager to make new changes and impact not only our community, but the greater collective of Carrer dels Flassasers and El Born, towards the goal of planting a seed of consciousness in everyone that comes into contact with Club Caramel. #sustainability #sustainableActionplan #consciousplaning #Natureneeds #NatureTalks #Circularmodels #Proximity #CommunityImpact

Instead of conquering the globe or space, the pioneering spirit should endure instead, of raising the standard of living. The idea of the pioneering spirit is often associated with exploration and conquest, whether it be of new lands on Earth or the vastness of space. However, reimagining this spirit to focus on raising the standard of living can lead to profound and impactful changes in our world. Elevating the Standard of Living Sustainable Development: Instead of focusing on expansion, we can channel our efforts into sustainable practices that improve quality of life. This includes prioritizing renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and eco-friendly technologies. Innovation for Humanity: The pioneering spirit can drive innovation in health care, education, and technology to create solutions that address pressing global issues such as poverty, disease, and inequality. Community Empowerment: Fostering local initiatives that empower communities to improve their own living conditions can create a ripple effect. This includes supporting local businesses, education, and infrastructure improvements. Global Collaboration: Instead of competition for resources, a pioneering approach can encourage nations to collaborate on global challenges, such as climate change and public health, ensuring that all benefit from advancements. By redirecting the pioneering spirit towards enhancing the quality of life for everyone, we can create a more equitable and sustainable future. This approach not only honors the essence of exploration but also ensures that progress is meaningful and inclusive. #helpinghands #Prevention #environmental #helpinghands

Watch this video - get curious about what else Antidote has to offer you - and start to feel the positivity. We can do this.
Storytelling + film + climate. Director at Rubber Republic. Exciting people about a more sustainable future. BCorp. Founder @Antidote Live & The Cultural Content Lab
🚨 POSITIVE PROJECT LAUNCH ALERT 🚨 There are a lot of challenges in the world right now, from rising inequality, to the climate to the cost of living, but communities across the country are already coming together to create better paths forward. We just don’t hear about them as the media has other agendas. Maybe it would be more helpful if we did? And maybe in seeing what other people are already doing, we could all reclaim our agency to make a difference ourselves? So today we’re launching Antidote - a project sharing positive stories of collective action, that if grown could change our world. Created collaboratively with Rachel Donald, Rubber Republic, Paddy Loughman, and raft of great people (see roll call below!). PLEASE FOLLOW US on your favourite doomscrolling platform (links in the first comment) to bring a little positivity to your feed - AND share it with those in your life who may need it. Our target audience are those wanting to do something to counter the overwhelm of this time - the 'moveable middle' / majority of people who research shows care deeply about our futures but are feeling unsure how to make a difference. Please Follow ANTIDOTE here👇: Instagram: https://lnkd.in/e5bK3JXA TikTok: https://lnkd.in/eX6EGkej YouTube: https://lnkd.in/e-rSUwZ2 Website: https://lnkd.in/eWyY8n-9 & donate here! https://lnkd.in/eVnJGzhf We’re going to be actively experimenting with different formats including humour, heart and raw honesty over the next 2 months so please tell us what you think? If we can’t imagine a better future it’ll be hard to create one, and if we can’t see what each other are already doing to create one, it makes it harder to add to the momentum already all around us. But we CAN reshape our world in ways that can benefit all, with cheaper bills, healthier food, cleaner energy, more joyful lives, more environmental stability, better governance, smarter economic models, and less pressure on all the other life we share this planet with. Today we’re featuring Ambition Lawrence Weston - a community in Bristol who’ve built the tallest community owned wind turbine in the UK - whilst improving their entire estate. Hear from Mark Pepper in the video below. Please check ANTIDOTE out, and let us know what you think as we slowly bombard you with positivity 💪 🌍 ✨ Thanks to all of the amazing collaborators who've helped get this project going: Rachel Donald for collaboration and magic, Alex Shand for production and creativity, Lauren Jeffery, Jon Alexander, Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF), Iris Andrews, Cassie Robinson, Sophia Parker, Ella Saltmarshe, Professor Colin Davis, Sally Vivyan, Sophie Marple, Nick marple, Sara Bender, Jane Shaw, Charlie Peverett, Tamsin Bishton, Andy Middleton, Charlotte Sewell ⚡🔶🌿, Steve Cole, Richard Roaf, Rupert Read, Anna Guyer, James Turner, Nicky Hawkins, Cooperation Hull, Lucy Holdaway (continued in comments! 👇)

Our mission is clear: To create Smart Villages that integrate innovative technologies with indigenous wisdom, fostering resilience and sustainability in flood-prone and vulnerable communities. At the heart of our organization lies a deep-rooted vision for a world where sustainable living is not just a choice, but the norm. We envision a future where innovative technologies walk hand in hand with indigenous knowledge and materials, creating harmonious ecosystems where both people and the planet thrive in unison. But our mission goes beyond building resilient communities; it's about catalyzing broader societal change. It's about inspiring a shift towards a more equitable, just, and sustainable world for all. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗯. It needs a safe environment where it can thrive. A place small yet big enough to generate meaningful insights. A place culturally diverse enough to allow testing in different cultural environments. A place where the gap between the haves and the have nots is significant enough to understand what will and won’t work. A place that has pioneered breakthroughs before. The world needs a place where - Solutions to 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 can be tested and scaled globally. - Paths to 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 can be explored and refined. - Strategies for 𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 can be developed and replicated. - Models to 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗯 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 can be piloted and expanded. 𝗔 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 In 1834, the first ship to carry indentured labourers arrived in Mauritius from India and thus begun the post slavery model, a world first. This led to millions of Indians transported to colonies around the world. 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺, a significant, albeit flawed, experiment in economic restructuring. It became a testing ground for a global shift, leaving a legacy that continues to influence labor markets in much of the developing world today. 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺? It’s got everything required to be the perfect lab - it is small yet big enough, it is culturally diverse, is economically, significantly unequal and it has all the problems of the world. Mauritius’s could test out 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 experimenting with sun, waves and wind. It could pioneer circular economy practices, regenerative agriculture and develop marine conservation projects. It could, using its own experience of peaceful coexistence among diverse communities, 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 by becoming a neutral hub for global peace building initiatives. It could pilot 𝗽𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 initiatives such as a basic income program, state driven micro business development and micro finance systems. It could develop sustainable tourism practices, zero waste programs, encourage localised production to reduce dependence on imports and test new systems that 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Just as it birthed a new labor system in the 19th century, it could now 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. This initiative wouldn’t just benefit the world. It would empower Mauritius to lead, attract global investment, foster innovation, and secure a brighter future both for its and the world’s citizens.

🌍 Stakeholder Engagement is one of the most critical aspects of any Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) study. ✨ It reminds us of the responsibility we have to ensure that every voice is heard and every concern is addressed. 🤝 These engagements go beyond formalities they are opportunities to align technical findings with the realities of local communities and ecosystems. 👂 By actively listening to stakeholders, we gain invaluable insights that shape our approach to environmental and social challenges. ✅ This process not only strengthens project credibility but also reinforces the balance between development and sustainability. #Sustainability #Environmental_Impact #Stakeholder_Engagement #ESIA #Sustainable_Development #Community_Engagement #Environment_Matters
