One of Türkiye's pioneering defense tech companies on Tuesday unveiled the nation's first indigenous beyond-the-horizon submarine defense sonar system. The system is part of efforts to employ entirely domestic technology to further expand the navy's competence in underwater detection capabilities. The Low-Frequency Active Sonar System (DÜFAS), developed under the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) in line with the needs of the Naval Forces Command, enables the detection and location of threats such as submarines and torpedoes over long distances, ensuring critical underwater situational awareness. #TürkiyeTrade #GTF2024 #GlobalTradeForum #EUTradeRelations #EuropeEconomy #TradeDiplomacy #TradeAlliance #GlobalCommerce #CrossBorderTrade #EconomicPartnership #TradeTalks #TürkiyeExports #EUTradePolicy #TradeCollaboration #InternationalTrade #TradePartners #EconomicIntegration #EuropeanUnion #TradeOpportunities #GlobalEconomy

The author offers some thoughtful points. The MLR and its components were conceived, and intended, to meet the demands of light, mobile, raid forces. The Corps is limited more by mindset and habit of action then design for this type of employment. As for lessons from Ukrain… let’s not forget the reinforcement of the value of mass and multi axis, multi domain attacks … which in concert with maneuver and light infantry keep Ukraine in the fight. Keep modernizing. Keep training for innovative and adaptable employment of forces on focused objectives with limited resources for measure periods of time.

New Guidance for Amphibious Readiness The US Navy and United States Marine Corps have signed off on new guidelines to ensure the readiness of the amphibious ship fleet. The "Memorandum of Understanding on Amphibious Warfare Ship Terms of Reference" was created after a "deep dive" ordered by the service chiefs earlier this year. The new guidelines are designed to maintain amphibious readiness even after the current leadership retires. According to CNO Adm. Lisa Franchetti and Commandant Gen. Eric Smith, the document will "ensure consistency and uniformity in Navy and Marine Corps amphibious force planning, assessment, and operational mission execution." This move follows testimony from the service chiefs emphasizing their "locked shields" on the importance of amphibious ships - a shift from past disagreements. It also reflects the Navy Secretary's changed messaging, after previously implementing a "strategic pause" on certain amphibs. #Navy #MarineCorps #AmphiousShips #MilitaryReadiness #MilitaryModernization #AmphiobusOperations #NavalWarfare

The US Marines' China-fighting, island hopping Q Ship plan is in trouble The US Marine Corps has a new island-hopping strategy for a possible war with China. But the strategy requires a new ship – an easy-to-hide medium landing ship that’s cheap enough for the US Navy to buy quickly and in large numbers. But the Medium Landing Ship – or LSM in Navy parlance – is two years behind schedule, and costs are rising. The delays and increasing cost aren’t isolated problems – they’re endemic to the whole portfolio of Navy shipbuilding programs as the Pentagon grapples with serious labor issues https://lnkd.in/gSeweFnt

Very interesting insights for actual modern warfare.
The Marine Corps infantry has found an unlikely ally in a $9.95 unofficial website. Created by a retired lieutenant colonel, 2ndBn5thMar.com has become a hub for sharing tactical insights and best practices among Marines. Inspired by the conflict in Ukraine, a team of volunteers developed a detailed handbook and a series of "lessons for leaders" to guide Marines on how to fight in a modern, high-intensity environment. The documents cover topics such as drone warfare, anti-tank missile tactics, and the importance of tanks in the face of mechanized threats. While the website is unofficial, it has gained significant popularity among Marines seeking practical guidance beyond the traditional doctrine. The site's contributors believe that open discussion and sharing of experiences are essential for maintaining the Marine Corps' edge in a rapidly evolving battlefield. #marineinfantry #tacticalguidance #unofficialwebsite #militarydoctrine #ukrainesituation

The Navy and Marine Corps have unveiled new guidelines aimed at ensuring the perpetual readiness of their amphibious ships, marking a significant commitment to mission effectiveness beyond current leadership terms. The "Memorandum of Understanding on Amphibious Warfare Ship Terms of Reference" underscores a strategic shift towards sustained operational capability, bolstered by uniformity in planning, assessment, and execution across both services. This initiative, championed by Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti and Marine Corps Commandant Gen. Eric Smith, reflects a unified approach to enhancing readiness amidst evolving strategic challenges. Opportunities for industry abound in supporting the Navy and Marine Corps' enhanced readiness protocols for amphibious ships. CRG advises that key areas of focus include advanced maintenance technologies, logistics support systems, and interoperable communications solutions tailored to amphibious operations. The M41 Saber System is a truly amazing piece of armaments technology.
💥The M41A7 Saber System looms large on the battlefield, striking with deadly precision to haunt enemy armored vehicles, bunkers, and fortified positions. This combat-proven system gives our infantry and light armored reconnaissance battalions a terrifying edge, perfect for dismantling threats before they even know what hit them. 🪖In a bone-chilling display of firepower during Exercise KAMANDAG 8, Marines from the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit joined Philippine Marines from Marine Battalion Landing Team 7, 3rd Marine Brigade, for a live-fire coastal defense under the eerie, clouded skies of Apurawan Beach. With the M41A7 Saber in hand, they unleashed ghostly precision, making it clear that any threat lurking in the shadows should beware—the Saber is always ready to strike fear into those who dare to cross its path. 🎥 - Cpl.
