As a populous province, Shandong Province has entered a stage of deep aging society in recent years. The results of the seventh census showed that the population of Shandong Province aged 60 and above reached 21.221 million, accounting for 20.9% of the total population in the province, and 2.2 percentage points higher than the national level. It is now the province with the largest elderly population in the country. The aging of the population presents the characteristics of large base, fast growth and high degree, accompanied by aging, disability and empty nest. For this reason, governments at all levels in Shandong Province attach great importance to the work of elderly care services. In cooperation with our local partners, and supported by the Dutch Embassy, NBSO Qingdao will organize a Dutch Health Care & Elderly Care Mission to visit Qingdao, Shandong province, from Nov12/Tue to Nov13/Wed.
