Together4RD Chair Sheela Upadhyaya participated today in the european joint programme on rare diseases ejp rd final conference session 'Impact of EJP RD in clinical research' chaired by Prof Franz Schaefer and Prof Rima Nabbout.    Following presentations from Christina Kyriakopoulou, Bert Smeets and others, Sheela contributed to the panel discussion “Lessons learned: Efficacy and impact of clinical research funding instruments in EJP RD with Alexandre MEJAT and Isabella Brambilla.   🔍 Sheela highlighted the three launched Together4RD ERN-industry collaboration pilots, and that we are developing a toolkit that will distill that experience into practical learnings to support other public-private partnerships. More information on the Toolkit coming up 🔜   🙏 Big thanks to EJP RD for all the support and for inviting Together4RD at its final conference. The session takes place on 10 October under the theme of ‘Contribution, evolution, revolution’. This symposium will showcase how the work of the Committee for Advanced Therapies (CAT) has contributed to the regulatory framework for ATMPs in Europe and to the approval of innovative products. It will also outline the evolution of CAT and its adaptation to the challenges posed by novel classes of ATMPs. The ultimate objective is to ensure that high quality, safe and efficacious products become new treatment options. Many more novel developments are on the horizon. Each has the possibility to revolutionise patient care, and their own merits and challenges. Speakers and audience will discuss the vision for ATMPs for the next 15 years.
