One of the biggest reasons I'm conflicted about AI is its impact on sustainability and wellbeing. With climate change already a massive crisis, AI's rapid acceleration demands enormous energy resources. Each large language model trained can emit as much carbon as 5 cars over their entire lifespan. But here's what gives me hope: * We're seeing a shift towards sustainable AI development * Energy efficiency metrics being included in ESG reporting * Implementation of resource-conscious AI operations * Focus on balancing innovation with environmental impact The key is intentional development - so i put this factsheet together on how to consider applying AI that helps humanity thrive The reality? AI isn't going away. But we can shape HOW it develops.
