Nurses, engineers, welders...they're not used to sitting in a chair where there are lights, mics, and cameras. It can be intimidating! The storyteller prep process is something we've spent a lot of time fine-tuning over the years. Our prep process at Stories Incorporated includes: -Getting to know storytellers ahead of time -Having a prep call so they know what to expect -Creating psychological safety when they're in the interview chair so they can open up and not over-edit themselves -And pivoting the conversation if it's headed in a direction where they're not comfortable To get great stories, you have to give guidance and support.

Day 32 of 365 #365daysofcode #dsa #problemsolving #greedy Today's topic -> Job sequencing problem This is a problem based on greedy algorithms and is of category easy. It has N jobs to schedule each have some deadline, a job can't be done if it's deadline is over. In this we can simply sort the jobs on the basis of their deadline, then start picking the jobs one by one and if it's deadline is not over then schedule the job in last available slot before its deadline. #HighFiveCrew 🎉 High Five to Melissa, one of our Drop Ship Coordinators in our San Antionio office, for going above and beyond in the workplace! #HighFiveFriday ... 1. What is it like working at PHS (and how long have you been here)? Working at PHS is very rewarding. I love the fact that we make such an impact on these children's lives. We have a goal, to get these children with medical complexities home. I love the care we provide and how we provide it. There is nothing more rewarding than making a difference in a family's life. That is what we strive for and what we stand behind. There is no other place I'd rather work at. 2. What hashtags describe your personality best? #loyal #dedicated #driven 3. What is something people don't know about you? I have been in the DME field for 25 years. 4. Describe PHS in 3 words: Rewarding, Compassionate, and Dedicated

Lights, camera, active verbs! 🎬 Best used at the beginning of a bullet point, active verbs put you in the driver's seat of your accomplishments. Active words ('achieved', 'coordinated', 'developed') are a powerful signal of your ability to get the job done. On the other hand, words like 'supported', 'assisted', and 'helped' have a passive effect on the sentence - they make it sound like you were more of a bystander than a leader. Below are a few examples of resume bullets for a camp counselor that begin with active verbs: 🟢 Coordinated activities for group of 50+ campers on behalf of regional summer camp, working with program leaders to plan memorable initiatives such as talent shows and scavenger hunts. 🟢 Provided a safe and welcoming camp experience, facilitating first-day welcome events and leading small group discussions to cultivate trust. 🟢 Developed new programs in culinary exploration and entrepreneurship which engaged over 25 campers, leading collaborative sessions to foster creativity and independence. Here's the same camp counselor - but with passive verbs: 🔴 Assisted with primary care and supervision to youth in summer camp. 🔴 Supported counselors and children with activities. 🔴 Helped provide a safe and healthy camp experience. The counselor in the first bullets sounds way more confident and capable than the counselor in the second example!
