We love hearing from happy customers, therapists, families and friends. A lovely recent piece of feedback: “I saw [client] at home today to review how he was managing with the arm supports. He is doing so well with them and enjoying his increased independence. We had a game of Connect 4, did some throwing and catching, practiced with using cutlery, cleaning his teeth and also using a keyboard. Oh he also attending a wedding in a few weeks so has been practicing his dance moves!! He was not able to do any of these things before so just wanted to feedback how positive it has been for him and to thank you for all of your help throughout this process. I can’t wait to get him back in school so that he can show off his skills. He is going love showing off!” - OT feedback after Neater Arm Support Fitting

We don't go to therapy just to be soothed. This might seem obvious to those of us who are therapists, but actually often when people initially consider how knitting is therapeutic, they focus mainly on it being relaxing and soothing. Whereas actually it can offer us so much more! This week on my podcast I had the pleasure of interviewing Tamanna Rahman who is a nurse practioner working in the field of mental health. During our discussion on the therapeutic benefits of knitting she pointed out that as therapists we create a safe envirornment to think about really difficult things, and often we are helping our clients to make some very challenging changes to their lives. And that knitting can also offer us a safe space to try out some difficult things! - Knitting is a safe place to make mistakes - the stakes are very low and usually they can be unravelled and fixed. Mistakes in knitting are inevitable and knitting has definitely helped me to get better at tolerating my mistakes in other areas of life - Knitting provides a never-ending opportunities for learning - you can do it for 40 years and still be learning new techniques - Knitting is made up of thousands of tiny actions that add up to the final outcome - it is a great metaphor for the value of incremental gains - Being a knitter has really helped me to value the process and not just focus on the outcome. This is important when it takes you 3 months and hundreds of hours to make a sweater! - A common theme on the podcast as been the idea of knitting helping us to sit with distress and to exist alongside it, even if we can't change it. DONE IS BETTER THAN A PROCASTINATED PERFECT Perfection is often the enemy of progress. We get so caught up in making things flawless that we forget – what really matters is getting it done. Take action, make mistakes, adjust, and keep going. Done means you’ve moved the needle. Perfect just means you’re still working on it. Don’t let the pursuit of “perfect” hold you back from making real progress. Today, aim for done. You can always refine later. 🔥 #DoneIsBetterThanPerfect #ProgressOverPerfection #GetItDone #MoveForward #RealResults #ADHDMinds
