Manufacturing Automation – the Cost The unknown and unknowable benefits far outweigh what is measured! -- "These costs and many others are hidden since we don't recall seeing them on any balance sheet or P/L ledger but are there as what we might call the “financial impedance” of the manufacturing process or the entire plant for that matter. The summation of these hidden costs are incurred continuously and are “baked” into the final price of the product and depending how high these costs are, this may or may not yield a market competitive product in the longer term. Most important, the summation of these costs is also the cost of our process inefficiency that the automation that we are paying for each reporting period but we don't have, can eliminate or minimize.
