Just imagine: before 2014, our nation saw the establishment of 7 AIIMS in 7 decades. Now, fast forward to this week – brace yourselves – as we're about to witness the inauguration of 7 AIIMS in just 7 days! These are not just numbers; they represent a monumental leap in healthcare infrastructure for our country. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi lays the foundation stone of AIIMS Rewari, it marks another significant milestone under the PMSSY scheme. Thanks to this initiative, six AIIMS-like institutions have already been set up across various states, from Patna to Rishikesh, bringing state-of-the-art healthcare closer to people's doorsteps. Each new AIIMS carries a hefty investment, with an approved cost of 820 crores. This funding is not just for construction, but also for ensuring that these institutions are equipped with the latest medical technology, including modular Operation Theatres. This isn't just about buildings; it's about building a healthier future for generations to come. With enhanced healthcare accessibility and quality, we're empowering communities and transforming lives. Let's celebrate this remarkable stride towards a healthier and brighter India! #healthcare #India #Indianhospitals #AIIMS #BandlikH #development
Quality of care is not catered by good buildings and gadgets only. Working manpower with skills and passion is needed!! Otherwise AIIMS will become another “few” Government hospitals!! Recruitements in AIIMS should be a matter of study as it will be pivotal in pt care ! Government has done job by building them.. Governance is the major factor now!
What equally important is to maintain the same standard of treatment and service, which often lacks with decentralisation.
Are all these AIIMS really AIIMS!!! Many of them lacking basic facilities, many lacking doctors, many inaccessible to patients. In many patients lying on floor. How can you call them AIIMS AND BRING DOWN THE STANDARDS OF INDIAN MEDICINE!!
This initiative is late by two decades! Biggest challenge is not constructing and equipping the hospital but to find the medical & nursing talent to run these. Unless medical education and training Is democratised and freed from clutches of politics we may end up with ghost institutions

In Tamilnadu Madurai still only the AIIMS compound wall only constructed it was announced by the PM along with all other state AIIMS projects. The AIIMS was officially announced on 28 February 2015, in the budget speech for 2015–16, where the Minister of Finance Arun Jaitley announced five more AIIMS, in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Assam and Tamil Nadu and an "AIIMS-like" institute in Bihar.[2] Tamil Nadu had proposed five sites to set up an AIIMS. The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) informed Minister for Health and Family Welfare of Tamil Nadu Ma. Subramanian in February 2023 that the construction of AIIMS Madurai would begin by the end of 2024 and be completed by 2028. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_India_Institute_of_Medical_Sciences,_Madurai
I fully agree that quality is important and not number. I also believe if these hospitals are named as AIMS appropriate facilities will also be provided.
Let's get the info right, it took 4-7 years to build them. Inauguration in 7 days was a strategy.
Healthcare has been one the development along with others by the present government
