"Urgent global action is required to improve the screening, diagnosis and treatment journey for women with cardiovascular disease." - Global Heart Hub This clear and simple message from the Global Heart Hub aptly reflects the dark and complex reality that heart disease, as the LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH for women remains UNDERSTUDIED, UNDERDIAGNOSED, and UNDERTREATED. The truth is, most heart diseases can be managed quite well if detected early. Many patients can go on to enjoy quality of life if their condition is treated and well-managed. Things can and should be better. An important aspect to increasing early detection, preventing missed diagnosis and improving standards of care is to hear from patients themselves and respecting their voice and input in the process. This latest report published by the Global Heart Hub - a patient-led initiative that brought together experts from 15 countries - marks an important milestone in patient-led collaborative research. No doubt a useful resource and must-read for anyone interested in advancing women's heart health.
