Paul Courtney, the Chief Procurement Officer of U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shared his office's new vision statement. "𝑩𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒆𝒓 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒈𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒔 𝒆𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒔𝒖𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔." I would submit that he includes #smallbusiness and large from industry as part of the "people" and as enablers. Take time to review his #strategy for fiscal years 2022 through 2025 as defined in four Main Priorities. 🔥 Prepare and Empower Our People to Excel 🔥 Energize Partnerships Through Collaboration 🔥 Inspire Innovation to Enhance Mission Capability 🔥 Enrich the DHS Procurement Experience He describes that the #DHS procurement community is the center of the DHS procurement experience - suppliers like you are who deliver on that experience. DHS sees Small Businesses as an important part of executing its mission as you will read in the Objectives listed for each Main Priority. I would recommend you read this document before #marketing to DHS so you can align your message to their stated needs and vision. If you do not have a working relationship yet with the Small Business Professionals in DHS, consider starting one now. DHS leaders, led by Darlene Bullock, are huge believers in the value of small businesses to the Department's mission.
