Two non-profits (Kramden Institute and E2D - Eliminate the Digital Divide) that have distributed more than 100,000 computers in North Carolina are joining forces to expand their impact statewide. They offer to pick-up of 20+ devices at no cost to businesses and government agencies. They provide free data destruction, saving staff hours that your IT Department can dedicate to other tasks. Equipment donors receive a charitable donation receipt and a free certificate of data destruction upon request. They distribute computers to persons in need through digital skills classes and 100+ distribution events annually. It's their intention to get devices from your community back to YOUR community. One of the questions we get asked a lot is how do we measure our impact? How do we know what the funds are achieving? The answer is simple. Funds that are donated to specific projects are tagged as such. The project has a clear plan with qualitative and quantitative measures that are then reported on at agreed set intervals. We're professional, transparent, and base our actions on data. That's how we make a difference.

How can we effectively and thoughtfully engage other departments in fundraising? 👇 This is a question we often get asked, and that one our wonderful Fellows tackled this week in our Peer Power Session - a peer learning format designed to address specific organisational challenges through asking exploratory questions and sharing experiences from both fundraiser and grant-maker perspectives. We spoke about:  🌟 Breaking down what fundraising is, with a view to tackling the ‘fear’ that often comes with approaching raising money as a non-fundraiser.  🌟 Providing clear pathways and actions for other departments to take to contribute to fundraising success. 🌟 Providing incentives for getting involved (i.e. supporting the fundraising team is in everybody's best interest).
