Procurement and Supply Chain I was wondering why one should need to know the supply chain to be a procurement specialist ? More So,whose horizon is bigger? Procurement or Supply Chain? This could be viewed in the following way: 1. Procurement is part of the Supply chain. 2. It is expected that Supply chain specialists should have adequate knowledge/expertise on procurement. 3. The procurement could be 80 percent of the Supply chain activities. 4. So who is having knowledge on procurement already S/he is having 80 percent knowledge on Supply chain,To cover rest 20 percent S/he should have also knowledge on logistics, manufacturing , operations, distribution, marketing, maintenance ,administration and required knowledge on other cross functional team members activities who all are the stakeholders of supply chain like Vendor, supplier, buyer, retailer , wholesaler and others. #mustafizavan

Procurement Vs Purchasing whats the real Difference? Many still believe procurement and Purchasing are the same. They aren't. --> Procurement Focusing on long term planning and creating value. --> Purchasing deal with short term needs and focusing on price. #Supplychain #Planning #procurement #Purchasing #vendor's #Important #Local Supply Chain Professionals (Pakistan) Procurement Logistics Management

A little suggestion for all the #Procurement, Plant Procurements, Global Procurements, Procurements Specialist, Not Specialist , Expert, Junior, Senior: the minimum batch must be chosen by WHO BUYS, not from the Supplier.. Otherwise we will be Supplier with our Customers and Supplier with our Suppliers . It’s easy to understand that you cannot survive for a long time ! An angry #Logistic #Manager that he should take care about KPI Inventory! #Supplychain #Risorseumane
